Job Description

EchoStar is building an Agentic AI development tool that helps teams create autonomous, multi-step reasoning agents for CX use cases. As a Staff IT Product Owner based in Englewood, CO (onsite), you will set the product vision, define measurable outcomes, and own the platform backlog in Jira while partnering closely with engineering and CX leadership.

What you’ll do

  • Own and drive the product vision for the Agentic AI development tool, enabling engineers to build agents for use cases such as automated support resolution, hyper-personalized outreach, and human-in-the-loop handoffs.
  • Partner with CX leadership to identify key customer journey friction points and ensure the AI platform includes the required capabilities, including API integrations, RAG pipelines, and Guardrails.
  • Define AI platform KPIs tied to downstream CX results, including developer velocity, system uptime, and agent hallucination rates, alongside deflection rate, average handle time, and NPS.
  • Act as the ultimate owner of the platform backlog in Jira, breaking complex and ambiguous AI initiatives into well-structured Epics, User Stories, and tasks.
  • Use Advanced Roadmaps, JQL, and Jira dashboards to track cross-sprint dependencies, forecast delivery of complex ML models, and report transparently to executive stakeholders.
  • Lead backlog grooming, sprint planning, and sprint reviews, including clear acceptance criteria for non-deterministic AI features (for example, an agent routing intent with 95% confidence).
  • Work daily with Senior/Staff AI Engineers, Data Scientists, and Backend Engineers to prioritize foundational architectural work such as prompt management systems, memory/context windows, and tool-use/function calling.
  • Prioritize guardrails, compliance checks, and PII redaction so customer-facing agents operate safely and securely.
  • Drive the roadmap for tooling that supports human CX agents taking over from, monitoring, and providing feedback to AI agents.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert in Agile delivery for AI products and mentor junior and mid-level Product Owners across the CX organization.

What you bring

  • 10+ years in Product Management or Product Ownership, with at least 5+ years at a Senior or Staff level managing highly technical platform or infrastructure products.
  • Proven experience shipping Generative AI, LLMs, or Machine Learning products, including strong understanding of Agentic AI concepts such as RAG, vector databases, prompt engineering, and orchestration frameworks like LangChain or AutoGen.
  • Expert-level Jira proficiency, including structuring complex programs, balancing technical debt vs. feature delivery, and writing clear user stories for backend and AI engineers.
  • Deep understanding of CX ecosystems, including CCaaS, CRM platforms, and customer support workflows.
  • Ability to participate in deep technical architecture discussions, with fluency in APIs, microservices, system latency, and data pipelines.
  • Strong capability to manage effectively up to VP/C-level while maintaining credibility with engineering squads.
  • Certified Scrum Product Owner (CSPO), SAFe PM/PO, or equivalent Agile certifications.
  • Experience with cloud-native AI services, particularly the AWS AI stack (Amazon Bedrock, SageMaker, AgentCore).
  • Experience building internal developer platforms (IDP), SDKs, or APIs where developers were the primary end-users.
