Staff Product Manager, Engagement
Job Description
Calendly helps more than 20 million people simplify scheduling. As the company expands into a multi-product platform, this role is built for someone who can strengthen engagement across in-product and email while protecting the trust users place in Calendly.
This Staff Product Manager role focuses on the “surfaces and systems” that bring users back daily. You will help turn engagement into a repeatable system through ranking, timing, and triggers, using real usage to ship quickly and learn what actually compounds.
What you’ll do
- Design engagement as a system that compounds over time, including ranking, timing, and triggers, rather than relying on isolated campaigns.
- Own the experiences where Calendly presents users with their next step, spanning in-product surfaces and email, and the craft of showing the right content to the right person at the right moment.
- Build the habit of returning without making the product feel noisy.
- Ship quickly and learn from real usage to improve outcomes over time.
What you bring
- 8-10+ years of product experience, including senior or staff-level ownership in engagement, growth, or lifecycle.
- Experience using ML for ranking or personalization.
- A qualitative approach to product learning where user needs guide experiments, rather than testing at random.
- A long-term mindset that prioritizes growth and brand trust, including the judgment to decline “easy lifts” when they could cost trust.
- Drive and taste: aggressive and precise about pushing engagement while knowing where the line is.
- The ability to balance user and company goals without swapping one for the other.
- Ability to work from the San Francisco office 1-3 times per week.
- Authorized to work lawfully in the United States, as Calendly does not engage in immigration sponsorship at this time.
What’s in it for you
- Hybrid role in the Bay Area: expectation to be in the San Francisco office 2 times per week.
- Equity awards (eligible for all full-time employees working 30 hours/week).
- Competitive benefits.
- Sales Incentive program (eligible Sales employees).
Compensation: Expected annual base salary range for this role is USD 237,305 - 300,121, subject to change.
- Calendly considers factors including relevant experience, relevant skill sets, interview performance, location/metropolitan area, and internal pay equity when determining starting salary.
- Base salary is one component of total rewards. Full-time employees (30 hours/week) are also eligible for equity awards and competitive benefits. Eligible Sales employees qualify for a Sales Incentive program.
- Calendly uses the zip code of an employee’s remote work location, or onsite building location if hybrid, to determine which metropolitan pay range applies:
- Tier 1: San Francisco, CA, San Jose, CA, New York City, NY
- Tier 2: Chicago, IL, Austin, TX, Denver, CO, Boston, MA, Washington D.C., Philadelphia, PA, Portland, OR, Seattle, WA, Miami, FL, and all other cities in CA
- Tier 3: All other locations not in Tier 1 or Tier 2
