Technical Product Manager

Emergent Software is hiring a Technical Product Manager to lead planning and delivery for custom software solutions in a fully remote role.

Responsibilities

• Establish product vision, strategic roadmap, and a prioritized backlog.
• Partner with clients by supporting them in the Product Owner role.
• Facilitate requirements gathering and analysis with deep attention to detail.
• Document requirements as Features and User Stories for team alignment.
• Create delivery plans with your team and client to achieve project objectives and business value.
• Provide support, guidance, and mentorship to the Product Delivery Team.
• Drive innovation and adoption of AI tooling in product development and delivery.
• Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and a community of practitioners.
• Help shape future product offerings and client engagement options.
• Lead product development activities for key or strategic client pursuits.
• Present solution vision proposals to client executives.
• Collaborate with account executives to support client satisfaction in ongoing delivery engagements.
• Establish client technology roadmaps.
• Vet requirements for technical feasibility in close collaboration with architects and engineers.
• Develop credibility with clients through informed communication on technology topics.
• Execute on established plans, ensuring delivery stays on track.
• Regularly communicate project status, risks, and changes as they occur.
• Manage client delivery directly while encouraging and fostering agile delivery.
• Apply agile principles in real-world settings, adjusting to the client’s agile maturity and improving it over time.
• Own backlog health and proactively communicate deviations from expected value delivery.
• Act as a servant leader to the delivery team.
• Communicate technical and business requirements to the delivery team.
• Collaborate with senior delivery team members to solve complex challenges.
• Demonstrate strong understanding of custom software development concepts and best practices.
• Own the narrative around project delivery so stakeholders stay informed, aligned, and reassured.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager.
• Experience delivering custom enterprise software solutions across multiple technologies, platforms, and hosting paradigms.
• Experience creating cost estimates to deliver components or entire projects.
• Strong technical writing, verbal communication, and presentation skills.
• Experience acting as a liaison between agile development teams and users to define requirements, perform business analysis, and drive delivery.
• Experience using AI tools in product development, product delivery, or project management.
• High-level understanding of websites, web applications, APIs, databases, and cloud.
• Strong technical background to lead development teams and evaluate complex project risks and issues.
• Software development life cycle knowledge, including expert knowledge of Agile principles.
• Experience using agile work organization tools: Azure DevOps, Jira, Trello, Basecamp, Rally.
• Track record of implementing custom web application projects using Agile methodologies.
• Experience with scope, schedule, budget, and risk management.
• Consistent, transparent, and confident communication that makes you a trusted source of truth.
• Ability to accommodate occasional travel to client sites for activities such as annual planning meetings.
