Job Description
Checkpoint Surgical is hiring an Associate Product Manager to lead end-to-end product management across a diverse surgical portfolio. This onsite role in Independence, OH spans established product lines and new launches, with hands-on field involvement and close collaboration with clinical and cross-functional partners.
Role Overview
The Associate Product Manager will own core product management responsibilities across business planning, market strategy, field tools, physician engagement, and launch readiness. The role operates in a clinical and cross-functional environment, supporting commercial execution while informing product direction based on real customer needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a broad, growing portfolio by supporting established product lines with ongoing commercial requirements and participating in active new product launches across multiple therapeutic areas.
- Execute new launches including creation of go-to-market plans, field training, development of launch materials, and driving early commercial adoption for products entering the market.
- Own business plans, positioning, and pricing by managing the full marketing lifecycle for assigned product lines from strategy through field execution.
- Build physician and surgeon relationships through field time to understand clinical use and identify what customers need next.
- Support field enablement by working with Marketing and Sales to ensure representatives have the tools, training, and confidence to sell across a diverse portfolio.
- Partner across functions with Engineering, Clinical, and Operations to deliver product improvements and bring new innovations to market.
Required Qualifications
- 1 to 3 years of experience in medical device product management, marketing, sales, or clinical support; medical device experience or exposure to a multi-product portfolio is a plus.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, sciences, or engineering.
- Interest or experience in peripheral nerve surgery, orthopedic surgery, plastic reconstructive surgery, or advanced biologics, with comfort working across multiple product categories.
- Ability to manage multiple products and priorities by staying organized and following through, especially as portfolio demands increase.
- Comfort with launch ambiguity to build structure where needed and execute with limited resources.
- Strong communication with comfort presenting to surgeons and participating in cross-functional planning meetings.
- Analytical mindset using sales data and market insights to guide priorities and recommendations.
- Willingness to travel up to 30% for field visits, surgical case support, customer meetings, national sales meetings, and tradeshows.
