Digital Product Owner

Ameriprise Financial is hiring a Digital Product Owner to lead digital product vision and strategy for measurable business outcomes. This hybrid role in Minneapolis, MN brings together customer understanding, product discovery, and close collaboration with UX and Engineering to shape an outcome-driven roadmap.

In this position, you will translate customer needs, business objectives, and market opportunities into clear product direction. You will also drive discovery and measurement, align stakeholders on priorities and tradeoffs, and provide day-to-day leadership for one or more Agile Scrum teams.

What you will do

• Develop and evolve product vision and strategy by understanding customer needs, business goals, and market opportunities, turning insights into an outcome-driven digital roadmap.
• Own and refine personas, user journeys, value propositions, and success metrics, keeping execution anchored in customer-centric problem solving.
• Lead product discovery with UX and business stakeholders by identifying opportunities, defining hypotheses, and validating solutions prior to delivery.
• Partner with UX Design and Engineering Leads to set roadmap priorities, shape the backlog, and clarify context and rationale for upcoming work.
• Serve as the primary product point of contact for the business, facilitating alignment on priorities, tradeoffs, and sequencing to maximize impact.
• Define and track KPIs and measurable outcomes, sharing progress and insights with stakeholders and leadership.
• Continuously assess customer behavior, feedback, analytics, and qualitative research to identify and pursue new opportunities that deepen customer relationships and deliver value.
• Provide day-to-day leadership for one or more Agile Scrum teams, using influence without authority to maintain clarity of vision through execution.
• Collaborate with senior product leadership on strategic planning, investment decisions, and annual budgeting, adjusting strategy as learnings evolve.
• Build cross-functional relationships across UX, Engineering, Analytics, Compliance, Security, and business partners to support scalable, high-quality digital solutions.

What you bring

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 5–7 years of product management or product owner experience, including at least 3 years in an agile, software-based environment.
• Proven ability to lead product discovery and strategy, not only delivery.
• Strong capability translating business strategy and customer insights into clear product direction and roadmaps.
• Demonstrated success influencing cross-functional partners (design, engineering, business) without direct authority.
• Experience using qualitative and quantitative data such as analytics, research findings, and customer feedback to inform product decisions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to articulate vision, tradeoffs, and outcomes.
• Strong prioritization and organizational skills across multiple initiatives.

Compensation and work setup

• Estimated base salary: USD 100,000 - 137,600 per year
• Initial total compensation may vary based on knowledge, skills, experience, and geographical work location
• Full-time, Exempt
• Hybrid location: Minneapolis, MN
• In-office collaboration: work in the office at least four (4) days per week, with flexibility to work from home one (1) day per week. Some roles may require additional in-office time based on hiring process discussions.
