Job Description

The Principal Technical Product Owner will lead the technology roadmap for CareLink, MiniMed’s cloud-based diabetes data and digital health platform. This role translates stakeholder needs into secure, scalable, and high-quality capabilities while coordinating across multiple product and engineering functions.

Role Overview

Define, prioritize, and deliver the technology roadmap for CareLink cloud capabilities. Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to convert business, clinical, customer, and technical requirements into actionable product plans and outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Own and drive the technical product roadmap for CareLink cloud capabilities.
  • Translate customer, clinical, business, and technical needs into product requirements and prioritized backlogs.
  • Collaborate with architects and engineering leadership to define scalable cloud architecture, APIs, data platforms, integrations, and platform capabilities.
  • Lead decomposition from high-level concepts into epics, features, and actionable user stories.
  • Prioritize work by balancing business value, technical feasibility, security, quality, regulatory requirements, and delivery timelines.
  • Drive cross-functional alignment across Product, Engineering, Architecture, Data Science, Quality, Cybersecurity, and Clinical teams.
  • Define acceptance criteria and confirm delivered capabilities meet intended product outcomes and quality expectations.
  • Identify opportunities to modernize and modularize CareLink capabilities to improve scalability, reliability, and operational efficiency.
  • Support adoption of emerging technologies, including AI/GenAI, automation, cloud-native technologies, and data-driven capabilities.
  • Establish effective Agile and JIRA processes to increase transparency across planning, execution, dependencies, and releases.
  • Monitor product performance, technical health, risks, dependencies, and delivery progress, and communicate status to leadership.
  • Ensure technology decisions support CareLink’s long-term evolution as a secure, reliable, and scalable digital health platform.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and minimum 7 years of relevant experience.
  • OR Master’s degree with minimum 5 years of relevant experience.
  • OR PhD with minimum 3 years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a scientific discipline with 7+ years of technical engineering professional experience.
  • OR Master’s degree in engineering or a scientific discipline with 5+ years of technical engineering professional experience.
  • Strong organizational capability with effective communication to non-technical audiences.
  • Deep expertise in software test methodologies and quality standards or metrics.
  • Experience with APIs and data platforms, including familiarity with JSON and YAML data formats.
  • Experience in a regulated environment.

Compensation

USD 138,000 - 261,000 per year.

Location

Northridge, CA (onsite).
