Product Manager
Job Description
Gateway Ticketing Systems is looking for a Product Manager to own the vision and viability of a product line. You will partner closely with Sales and Marketing to shape go-to-market strategy, help teams understand product positioning and target customers, and serve as a subject matter expert for internal and external stakeholders.
What you’ll deliver
- Assess product opportunities to determine what will be built, including the product and feature scope.
- Set future product direction by defining business goals and metrics aligned with company commitments.
- Drive feature definition end-to-end: write user stories and acceptance criteria, define KPIs, set OKRs, prioritize the backlog, and triage defects to iteratively deliver, launch, and measure release success.
- Translate customer and market input into requirements that feed consideration processes.
- Develop product requirements with cross-functional partners, including use cases, specifications, wireframes, and UI mocks.
- Research competitive products and identify value opportunities to support product market fit, including feature plans and scenarios.
- Coordinate with Program Management to ensure key milestones are completed, including sprint reviews, sprint planning meetings, and feature reviews.
How you’ll ensure market fit and business outcomes
- Specify market requirements for current and future offerings through market research supported by ongoing visits to customers and prospects.
- Validate target markets through customer interviews and market research.
- Perform ongoing analysis to propose actions that protect marketability and profitability across the product line.
- Support Marketing with product information requests and sales collateral inputs such as product guides, press releases, and web content.
- Assist the Business Solutions Department with product-related requests focused on how offerings meet customer needs and respond to current and future inquiries.
- Provide product input for stakeholder communication, including aligning on clearly defined information in written form and through timely updates.
Where you’ll represent the team
- Attend trade shows and User Group Meetings.
- Complete tasks and handle situations in accordance with Gateway’s Core Values, and promote the company’s mission and vision.
- Maintain job knowledge through educational opportunities, professional publications, personal networks, or participation in professional organizations.
- Read, understand, and comply with the Employee Handbook, and follow defined policies, processes, and procedures.
What you bring
- BS degree in computer science, business management, or equivalent.
- 6+ years of software product management experience (or equivalent subject matter).
- A track record leading large mission-critical projects with cross-company coordination and communication, and building large-scale applications and services.
- Ability to discuss technology with engineers and business objectives with executives and customers.
- Ability to keep current with new technology and understand product impact.
- Knowledge of security and data protection regulations and best practices, including PII, GDPR, and other regulations.
- Expertise in the industry the product serves, with a self-managed, proactive work style.
- Strength in problem-solving, negotiation, conflict management, and written and verbal communication.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to get results with minimal guidance or unclear requirements.
- Experience training software applications.
- Prior industry-related experience, specifically as a technology solution provider.
- Ability to travel 25% domestically and internationally, with some weekends required.
- Willingness to work additional hours beyond regularly scheduled hours as requested by management.
