Product Manager
Job Description
Pettibone is seeking a Product Manager to join the Sales Team in Baraga, Michigan. This onsite role helps shape and execute product strategy for equipment product lines, partnering with customers and internal teams to drive roadmap decisions, performance, and growth.
Role Summary
The Product Manager will guide product strategy, development, performance, and growth. The position emphasizes customer collaboration and cross-functional coordination to translate market needs into product requirements, priorities, and execution plans across the product lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Own product strategy and assist in building and managing product roadmaps.
- Understand how customers use the equipment and identify opportunities to improve the product and operator experience.
- Collect customer and market feedback and convert it into clear product requirements and priorities.
- Conduct research on competitors, market size, pricing, economic trends, and new market opportunities.
- Evaluate which features and development projects deliver the greatest customer and business value.
- Define market and product requirements for new products and enhancements.
- Recommend pricing, revenue forecasts, and project budgets aligned with revenue and profitability goals.
- Lead cross-functional product development projects from identified market needs through delivery and execution.
- Monitor product performance, health, and profitability throughout the product lifecycle.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Sales, and Marketing to maintain alignment on product priorities.
- Provide support for key customer and strategic sales opportunities when deeper product expertise is needed.
- Act as a strong customer voice during product planning and development.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree; a technical/engineering or marketing background with a product management focus is preferred.
- 3 or more years of Product Management experience, preferably within manufacturing.
- Knowledge of heavy equipment products and manufacturing or assembly processes.
- Experience working in a lean manufacturing environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make data-informed decisions.
- Ability to lead cross-functional teams and communicate product direction and priorities clearly.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Project management experience or certification is a plus.
- Proactive, self-directed work style with ownership mindset.
- Ability and willingness to travel up to 25%, including overnight and extended travel; travel is primarily domestic with occasional international needs.
Compensation and Work Schedule
- Salary: $85,000–$110,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.
- Schedule: Full-time Monday to Friday (8:00am–4:30pm).
- Location: Baraga, MI (onsite).
