Product Manager - Digital Products
Job Description
Lead digital product strategy and execution for transportation and logistics services with full lifecycle ownership.
Responsibilities
- Define and communicate a product vision that aligns to customer needs and Penske’s strategic objectives
- Develop and maintain product strategy and a roadmap driven by measurable outcomes
- Set success metrics using KPIs/OKRs and ensure alignment to business value and customer impact
- Own ongoing product discovery through customer interviews, field research, and data analysis
- Study customer workflows to identify pain points and unmet needs in transportation and logistics
- Partner with UX and engineering to test, validate, and iterate solutions before full-scale development
- Use qualitative and quantitative insights to guide prioritization and product decisions
- Operate as part of a product triad (engineering and design) with shared ownership of outcomes
- Collaborate with data, operations, and business stakeholders to align priorities and trade-offs
- Serve as the voice of the customer while balancing technical feasibility and business impact
- Influence without authority across a matrixed organization, including Enterprise IT partners
- Translate strategy into clear problems, priorities, and outcomes for engineering teams
- Maintain and prioritize the product backlog based on value, risk, and learning opportunities
- Guide teams through agile development cycles with a focus on incremental value delivery
- Ensure releases are high quality, scalable, and aligned with architectural standards
- Own product performance across adoption, engagement, operational efficiency, and ROI
- Monitor product health using data and analytics, identifying opportunities for improvement
- Drive continuous iteration and optimization using user feedback, experimentation, and performance insights
- Champion a test-and-learn culture focused on accountability for results
- Communicate product vision, strategy, and performance clearly to stakeholders and leadership
- Build alignment across Digital Products, Operations, and Enterprise IT teams
- Manage expectations, risks, and dependencies across complex cross-functional initiatives
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (MBA or equivalent experience preferred)
- 5+ years of product management experience in digital, SaaS, or platform-based environments, with end-to-end ownership from discovery through delivery and optimization
- Proven delivery of measurable business and customer outcomes (for example: adoption, revenue impact, operational efficiency), not only feature delivery
- Experience with product discovery, problem validation, and experimentation (for example: MVPs, A/B testing)
- Ability to define product strategy and turn ambiguous problems into priorities, trade-offs, and execution plans
- Experience in a modern product operating model with empowered teams and close partnership with engineering and design (product triad)
- Strong analytical skills with experience defining and tracking product metrics and KPIs
- Ability to discuss technical concepts with engineering, including APIs, integrations, and data flows
- Proven ability to influence cross-functional partners in a matrixed setting, including Enterprise IT
- Business acumen to connect product decisions to customer and organizational impact
- Excellent communication and storytelling skills for stakeholder alignment and senior leadership updates
- Ability to operate in fast-paced, ambiguous environments with competing priorities and trade-offs
- Transportation, logistics, fleet management, or IoT platform experience is a plus
- Regular, predictable, full attendance is an essential function
- Ability and willingness to travel as necessary and work the required schedule at the specified location
- Must complete Penske employment application, background investigation (past employment, education, and criminal history), and drug screening
- Must be able to read; communicate verbally and/or in written form; remember and analyze certain information; and remember and understand instructions or guidelines
- May be required to stand, walk, and sit; frequently use hands for touch/handling/reaching; and occasionally lift/move up to 25lbs/12kg
