Product Manager - Physical Instruments
Job Description
The Product Manager for physical instruments is responsible for driving the economic performance of physical product(s) throughout the full product life cycle. This role leads product portfolio strategy, monitors market and competitive activity, and coordinates product launches and customer or sales enablement across internal and external partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate measures related to the product or product portfolio across the company and with external partners to achieve strong sales and contribution margins.
- Provide product-specific knowledge covering technology, market context, applications, and service to support sales, customers, internal departments, and cooperation partners.
- Monitor the market and competition.
- Lead strategic planning of the product portfolio in coordination with the Business Area Manager.
- Participate in R&D projects by creating frameworks and NPV calculations and contribute to reviews as a steering board member.
- Define product and accessory specifications for continuous improvement and further development.
- Evaluate ideas for improving products based on their effectiveness in the market.
- Make decisions on application development, new markets and applications, and on norms, standards, and approvals for the products.
- Define pricing for products, accessories, and services in coordination with the Business Area Manager.
- Plan and work on product launches, marketing campaigns, and promotional activities with the Technical Marketing Manager (TMM) and sales.
- Create and prepare sales training content, conduct trainings, and complete follow-up work supported by “International Training Coordination”.
- Support strategically important customers in coordination with Sales/Key Account Management.
- Conduct worldwide instrument presentations at customer sites to support sales.
- Participate in seminars and exhibitions, including content-related presence at booths when needed.
- Create and approve internal sales documents such as sales guides, sales presentations, training materials, and competitor guides.
- Approve and, when necessary, assist with customer documents including brochures, press releases, customer presentations, pharma qualifications, and other technical or application materials.
- Organize and coordinate a possible delivery stop of products.
- Monitor the sales budget and, when required, initiate sales promotion measures.
- Plan the sales and marketing budget annually in coordination with the Business Area Manager.
- Travel: up to 30% overnight domestically and internationally is required.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s Degree in Material Sciences, Chemistry, Physics, or a related field.
- Familiarity with analytical instrumentation used in research or industrial laboratory environments.
- Analytical and structured work experience with a high level of initiative.
- Exposure to business management concepts.
- Strong presentation and communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills
- Ph.D. in Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Master’s in Business Administration.
- 3 years of experience in technical product management or international sales of analytical instrumentation.
- Multi-lingual capability.
Supervision
This is an individual contributor role with participation across multiple projects and cross-functional teams and no direct supervisory responsibilities.
Work Location and Conditions
Location: Boynton Beach, FL (onsite).
- Work involves regularly sitting, standing, walking, observing, communicating, and handling items such as computers, machinery, and other equipment.
- Occasional lifting and/or moving of up to 20 pounds is required.
- Ability to obtain a Passport for international travel is required.
