Product Manager - Software Portfolio

Toshiba Global Commerce Solutions - External is seeking a Product Manager for the ELERA Software Portfolio. The role owns business justification, market positioning, product direction, and delivery artifacts for one-to-many offerings, partnering closely with retailers, sales, engineering, and stakeholders to define the WHAT and WHY and guide acceptance and roadmap decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Engage retailers, sales, partners, and market research to understand the business problems behind customer requests, and frame those problems rather than only receiving requirements.
• Generalize across customers by identifying repeatable patterns that justify building a capability once and delivering it to many, separating those patterns from work specific to a single retailer.
• Own business justification for portfolio offerings, including opportunity, value, competitive position, and sizing; present and defend the case through portfolio prioritization decisions.
• Define market positioning and value propositions, partnering with marketing, sales, and services to support go-to-market execution.
• Maintain roadmap and backlog for the offerings, including prioritization decisions and the tradeoffs behind them.
• Author Business Requirements Documents for each product direction, including the WHAT and the WHY, customer and market insights and transcripts, relevant background, assumptions and exclusions, user story breakdown, and acceptance criteria.
• Create a working clickable prototype for each product direction, directing AI design and development tooling against the codebase so intent is visible to engineering and stakeholders.
• Partner with engineering during build execution to clarify intent as questions arise and confirm that delivered outcomes align with the business case.
• Lead user acceptance testing and final business acceptance as the engineering cycle closes, validating readiness for release to market.
• Continuously improve the approach to moving from insight to prototype as AI methods evolve, and help advance those practices.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of experience, or an equivalent combination.
• Demonstrated ownership of a product, product area, or major business problem, with accountability for business outcomes rather than for a feature list.
• Track record defining product direction from customer and market evidence, including examples of decisions not to build.
• Substantial written work product personally authored, including requirements, business cases, or product strategy documents.
• Experience working directly with enterprise customers and senior internal stakeholders, including the ability to hold a position under pressure and negotiate to a decision.
• Hands-on use of AI tooling to create real work products, with specific examples of what was produced and how; including examples of product requirements and UX prototyping using AI.
• Evidence of self-directed learning to develop new capability based on initiative.
• 8+ years in product management with demonstrated product ownership and accountability.

Preferred Qualifications

• Point-of-sale, retail technology, or enterprise commerce domain experience.
• Demonstrated proficiency with AI tools, including clear articulation of governance and quality standards for their use.
• Experience creating or directing clickable prototypes as part of product definition.
• Experience working within a defined portfolio governance model, including prioritization rubrics, capacity tradeoffs, and formal change control.
• Experience managing a portfolio of offerings where prioritization and resource allocation must be defended.
