Job Description

In this Product Owner / platform owner role at Morgan Stanley, you will support the Wealth Management Alternative Investments Platforms Team and help shape how key alternative investment products are delivered to advisors and clients. The team leads strategic technology initiatives and application reengineering efforts across hedge funds, private equity, private credit, and private real estate to improve the financial advisor/client experience and increase operational efficiency.

This position focuses on driving initiatives end to end through the program development life cycle. You will partner across business areas and lead progress independently, translating needs into clear business requirements, aligning stakeholders, coordinating with technology developers, and overseeing testing and rollout efforts.

What you’ll do

  • Work within Wealth Management’s Alternative Investments Platforms Team supporting hedge funds, private equity, private credit, and private real estate.
  • Help drive strategic technology initiatives and application reengineering work aimed at improving the advisor/client experience and operational efficiency.
  • Manage initiatives across the program development life cycle, coordinating with teams in different business areas including sales, product, and operations.
  • Act as a product owner / platform owner who advances initiatives independently, including developing business requirements, obtaining stakeholder buy-in, coordinating with technology developers, and overseeing testing and rollout.

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • 7+ years of relevant finance industry experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with strong emphasis on Microsoft Excel
  • Strong organization and attention to detail
  • Problem-solving skills, including the ability to identify and escalate risks
  • Ability to critically assess processes for optimization and to drive continuous improvement in the underlying function set
  • Capability to take direction and work independently, as well as collaborate in a team environment
  • Deep appreciation for accuracy and its impact on work quality and downstream outcomes
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with senior management
  • Strong reasoning and problem-solving skills, with an owner mindset
  • Efficient time management and prioritization skills for competing urgent needs
