Job Description
Lead next-generation advertising supply and guest experiences across Target-owned digital and physical properties.
Responsibilities
- Identify, define, and incubate the next generation of advertising supply and experiences across Target-owned digital and physical properties.
- Partner across Target and Roundel to understand how guest experiences are changing, surface new advertising and monetization opportunities, and drive ambiguous 0-to-1 work from discovery through validation and MVP.
- Build product strategy and define go/no-go criteria by developing guest and advertiser value propositions, business cases, experience principles, measurement approaches, and success metrics.
- Start with priority focus areas such as evolving Target’s In-Store media capabilities and shaping Roundel’s advertising approach within emerging experiences including agentic commerce, while evaluating additional physical and digital experiences for future monetization.
- Collaborate across product, technology, design, analytics, measurement, operations, and Go-to-Market teams to bring new concepts to life and transition proven capabilities into the appropriate long-term product portfolio.
- Operate within the product model to develop a comprehensive product strategy, roadmap, and OKRs for your respective product.
- Use product knowledge, customer feedback, and other relevant data to assess value, develop business cases, and prioritize direction and outcomes.
- Lead product execution by working with engineers, UX designers, data scientists, and business partners to deliver the product.
- Act as the “voice of the product” for key stakeholders to align needs, direction, and support for successful delivery.
- Maintain a market-informed product roadmap and backlog, organizing customer themes, epics, and stories and prioritizing for highest impact.
- Promote open information sharing and multiple viewpoints; help teams pursue challenging goals and high performance aligned to the organization’s direction.
- Create urgency to achieve goals, leverage resources to address unexpected obstacles, and coordinate with other product teams across the organization.
- Core responsibilities are defined in this job description, and duties may change based on business needs.
Requirements
- Four-year degree or equivalent experience.
- 6+ years of product management experience building customer-facing digital products, ideally in ecommerce, marketplaces, media, advertising, or other platform businesses.
- Proven ownership of ambiguous or 0-to-1 products, capabilities, or customer experiences.
- Strong product strategy and discovery skills, including moving from problem definition through MVP, experimentation, launch, and scale.
- Experience identifying customer and business opportunities, forming product and monetization hypotheses, and translating them into prioritized roadmaps.
- Strong analytical and commercial judgment, including opportunity sizing, business case development, defining success metrics, and using data to drive decisions.
- Ability to influence and drive outcomes across highly matrixed teams spanning product, technology, design, data, operations, and business.
- Capability to navigate ambiguity, synthesize multiple inputs, make tradeoffs, and communicate clear recommendations to working teams and senior leaders.
- Experience partnering with research and design teams to understand customer needs and validate concepts before major investment.
- Plus: experience in retail media, advertising, ecommerce monetization, omnichannel experiences, AI/conversational experiences, or marketplace products.
