Vice President, POM Product Owner

The Bank of New York Mellon Corporation is seeking an Individual Contributor Vice President, POM Product Management within its Asset Servicing team. This Boston-based role centers on taking ownership of product lifecycle management, shaping product strategy, and ensuring offerings align with both market expectations and client needs while supporting governance and risk management.

In this position, you will work across functions to move products from strategy through launch and continuous improvement, using market insights and stakeholder collaboration to drive measurable outcomes. You will also provide guidance on product management best practices to strengthen how the team plans, governs, and delivers.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive the development and execution of product strategies by applying industry expertise and market insights to improve product offerings.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to support successful product launches and ongoing improvements through effective stakeholder management.
• Use market trend analysis and client feedback to uncover opportunities for product innovation and growth.
• Maintain strong product governance and risk management practices to support compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
• Build and sustain relationships with clients and industry partners to encourage product adoption and maintain client satisfaction.
• Provide thought leadership and guidance on product management best practices to support the development of the product management function.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, engineering, or a related field.
• Advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) preferred.
• At least 5 years of experience.
• Strong strategic thinking and analytical skills to advance product innovation and support market competitiveness.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaboration with diverse teams and stakeholders.
• Proficiency in product lifecycle management and governance to support compliance and risk mitigation.
