VP, Product Operations
Job Description
The Product Operations Leader will support the USIS Chief Product Officer by strengthening portfolio-level performance through KPIs and an effective product management operating rhythm. In this role, you will establish product operations strategy, OKRs, standard processes, and product innovation programs, while building and leading the Product Operations team to enable strategic change across Product Management.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as the defacto COO by partnering with the Chief Product Officer, the Product Leadership Team, other business unit stakeholders, and center of excellence stakeholders to translate business goals into product strategic imperatives and executable plans.
- Set the strategic direction for Product Operations OKRs across product leaders to drive key product and organizational outcomes.
- Serve as a USIS Product Management subject matter expert, responding to inquiries, developing action plans, and preparing and disseminating communications.
- Develop, drive, and enforce standard processes and procedures across Product to improve efficiency, consistency, and clarity.
- Own the USIS New Product Innovation program from ideation through revenue or investment tracking to meet USIS and Enterprise Innovation goals.
- Use product expertise to decompose core pillars of product discipline documentation, maintaining sponsorship to ensure an effective execution framework is established and executed.
- Demonstrate thought leadership and influence stakeholders to mature tooling with a product-focused perspective.
- Lead multiple strategic change initiatives, including communications, collaboration, and building an informed and engaged workforce, to transform product mindset and culture.
- Build the Product Operations team and sponsor the Product Management Rotational Development Program to support the development of future Product Management talent.
- Drive and manage performance across the Product Operations team, providing coaching, development, and mentoring to support their leadership and influence within Product Management.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (Graduate degree preferred) and 10+ years of progressive experience in Product Management, Product Operations, or Management Consulting, including at least 5+ years in a senior leadership capacity.
- Proven experience building and leading high-performing, cross-functional teams within a complex, matrixed organization to deliver innovation and product excellence.
- Exceptional capability to influence C-suite and senior stakeholders, aligning diverse viewpoints into strategic imperatives without direct authority.
- Deep expertise designing and implementing organizational frameworks, including OKRs, operating rhythms, and product development lifecycles, to support efficiency, consistency, and scalability.
- Strong financial management skills, including P&L oversight, investment budget development, and tracking revenue and portfolio KPIs.
- Ability to deliver executive-level presentations and visual communication that convey product vision.
- Demonstrated success leading large-scale organizational change initiatives, including transformation and complex programs.
