Job Description
Responsibilities
- Own the Workday platform as Product Owner with a strategic roadmap aligned to organizational priorities.
- Configure, maintain, test, troubleshoot, and optimize Workday across multiple modules.
- Lead platform governance, security, reporting, integrations, business processes, and system enhancements.
- Partner with HR, Payroll, Finance, Technology, Legal Operations, and firm leadership to identify automation and operational improvement opportunities.
- Assess business needs and design scalable Workday solutions that boost efficiency, compliance, and user experience.
- Develop and maintain reports, dashboards, scorecards, and analytics that provide meaningful workforce insights.
- Direct Workday release planning, testing, deployment, and change management activities.
- Oversee platform security, governance, auditing practices, and data integrity.
- Manage relationships with Workday, implementation partners, consultants, and third-party vendors.
- Create documentation, training resources, and communication plans to support successful user adoption.
- Own HR process mapping and identify opportunities to standardize, simplify, and automate business processes.
- Drive continuous improvement by evaluating new functionality and recommending enhancements that maximize the firm's Workday investment.
Requirements
- Seven+ years of progressive HRIS and Workday experience, including advanced system administration, governance, and enterprise solution design.
- Three+ years serving as a Workday Product Owner, platform owner, lead administrator, or primary functional lead.
- Proven experience owning the strategic direction, roadmap, governance, and ongoing optimization of a Workday environment.
- Advanced knowledge of Workday HCM, business processes, security, reporting, integrations, configuration, and related modules.
- Experience leading Workday implementations, major enhancements, release management, testing, and organizational change initiatives.
- Strong project and product management experience with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously.
- Experience partnering with executive leaders and cross-functional stakeholders to influence decisions and drive business outcomes.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and process improvement skills.
- Outstanding communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently while leading strategic initiatives across multiple business functions.

Overview
Fredrikson seeks a Workday HRIS Product Owner to join the Human Resources Operations team. This strategic role owns the firm's Workday platform, guiding the full product lifecycle while ensuring the system evolves with the business needs. The Product Owner translates business requirements into scalable technology solutions across HR, Payroll, Finance, Talent, and other functions to improve processes, data integrity, and the employee experience.
Location and In Office Environment
This role requires regular in-office collaboration and is not eligible for full remote work. Candidates must reside in, or relocate to, Minneapolis, MN.

Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Information Systems, Business Administration, Technology, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- Workday Pro certification or advanced certifications in HCM, Payroll, Benefits, Compensation, Talent, Learning, Recruiting, Security, or Reporting.
- Experience leading Workday implementations and post deployment optimization efforts.
- Deep knowledge of EIBs, calculated fields, business process frameworks, integrations, and data management.
- Experience developing enterprise governance models and technology roadmaps.
- Knowledge of HR operations, payroll processes, and compliance requirements.
- Experience within a law firm, professional services organization, or similarly complex environment.
