Job Description

The Assistant Store Leader (Product & Operations) role at SKIMS in Kansas City, MO supports day-to-day store performance with a focus on operational excellence, product presentation, and inventory accuracy. This position helps drive sales targets while maintaining brand standards, training associates, and ensuring compliance with company safety and security expectations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day store operations to ensure smooth and efficient functioning.
  • Maintain a clean and organized stockroom and store environment.
  • Manage shipment handling and help hold the team accountable for meeting productivity goals.
  • Own inventory management, including in-store replenishment and maintaining size integrity on the sales floor.
  • Handle damages, donations, returns, and product issues to protect inventory accuracy.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, including safety and security protocols.
  • Oversee supply procurement, ensuring the correct inventory of supplies and budget management for supplies.
  • Oversee in-store technology upkeep and communicate updates to the team.
  • Assist in developing and implementing sales strategies to meet or exceed targets.
  • Analyze sales data and reports to identify trends and recommend improvements.
  • Maintain visual merchandising standards by keeping products displayed in an appealing and organized manner.
  • Plan new launches and use business insight and customer feedback to inform merchandising decisions.
  • Collaborate with the Store Leader and team to create a visually compelling store experience aligned with SKIMS products.
  • Update product displays and signage for new arrivals, promotions, and seasonal changes so customers can find items easily.
  • React quickly to sell-through trends and adjust as needed to maximize business results and productivity.
  • Support store fixturing and maintenance.
  • Conduct regular stock checks and support replenishment as needed.
  • Communicate with partners to share assortment, allocation, and logistics feedback.
  • Share weekly or monthly product focuses and goals, and provide the team with actions to achieve desired results.
  • Serve as the in-store product expert by training Team Members on product knowledge, new launch information, and design inspiration.
  • Train store associates on operational standards and visual merchandising techniques to ensure consistent execution of brand standards.
  • Support an elevated customer experience by maintaining a clean, organized, and well-maintained store.
  • Partner with the Store Leader to motivate the team and execute strategies that drive sales and customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Strong leadership skills and the ability to manage a team of store associates.
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to oversee daily operations including inventory management, cash handling, and scheduling.
  • Strong understanding of customer service principles and the ability to provide exceptional service.
  • Ability to prioritize customer satisfaction and resolve issues or complaints in a timely manner.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to address issues that arise in the store.
  • Effective communication skills with both customers and team members.
  • Knowledge of sales techniques and the ability to motivate a team to meet and exceed sales targets.
  • Ability to stand, remain physically active, move around all areas of the store, and be accessible to customers for 100% of the scheduled shift.
  • Ability to bend, reach, and stretch for product, and to lift, carry, and move items up to 40 pounds regularly throughout the shift.
