Digital Product Owner
Job Description
Lead product vision for digital experiences at Ameriprise Financial while partnering with UX, engineering, analytics, and business stakeholders to drive measurable outcomes. This hybrid role in Charlotte, NC emphasizes early-stage problem definition, customer insight, and a data-driven roadmap built to maximize impact across Agile delivery.
What you’ll do
- Own product vision and strategy by understanding customer needs, business objectives, and market opportunities, then translate insights into an outcome-driven digital roadmap.
- Maintain and evolve personas, user journeys, value propositions, and success metrics to keep teams focused on customer-centric problem solving.
- Lead product discovery with UX and business partners, including opportunity identification, hypothesis definition, and validating solutions prior to delivery.
- Collaborate with UX Design and Engineering Leads to set roadmap priorities, shape the backlog, and provide clear context on why work matters.
- Serve as the primary business point of contact for the product, aligning priorities, tradeoffs, and sequencing to improve impact.
- Define and track KPIs and measurable outcomes, and share progress and insights with stakeholders and leadership.
- Continuously assess customer behavior, feedback, analytics, and qualitative research to identify new opportunities and deepen customer relationships.
- Provide day-to-day leadership for one or more Agile Scrum teams, aligning vision throughout execution while influencing without authority.
- Partner with senior product leadership on strategic planning, investment decisions, and annual budgeting, updating strategy as learnings evolve.
- Build cross-functional relationships across UX, Engineering, Analytics, Compliance, Security, and business partners to support scalable, high-quality digital solutions.
What you bring
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- 5–7 years of product management or product owner experience, with at least 3 years in an agile, software-based environment.
- Proven ability to lead product discovery and strategy, not only delivery.
- Experience turning business strategy and customer insights into clear product direction and roadmaps.
- Demonstrated ability to influence design, engineering, and business partners without direct authority.
- Use of qualitative and quantitative data (analytics, research findings, and customer feedback) to inform product decisions.
- Excellent written and verbal communication to articulate vision, tradeoffs, and outcomes.
- Strong prioritization and organizational skills across multiple initiatives.
Tools and frameworks you’ll work with
Agile, Agile Scrum, Jira, Productboard, Confluence, CSPO, SAFe PO/PM, Scrum Master.
Compensation and benefits
Estimated base salary: $100,000 - $137,600 per year. Initial total compensation may vary based on knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic work location. Ameriprise Financial follows a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy, and most roles are eligible for variable pay in the form of bonus, commissions, and/or long-term incentives depending on the role.

Work setup
Employees work in the office at least four (4) days per week, with flexibility to work from home one (1) day per week. Some roles may require additional in-office time or different expectations, discussed during hiring.

Additional preferences
- Experience building digital products in financial services or another highly regulated industry.
- Strong partnership experience with UX research and design teams.
- Background or certification in Agile frameworks (CSPO, SAFe PO/PM, Scrum Master).
- Proven ability to facilitate visioning, discovery, and alignment workshops.
- Experience with product discovery, roadmapping, and backlog tools (Jira, Productboard, Confluence).
