Job Description

USAA is seeking a Senior Digital/Technical Product Manager to lead discovery, delivery, and performance of digital and technology product experiences across channels, with a focus on P&C billing and payments. The role partners with business, UX, technology, and operations teams to shape strategy, execute roadmaps, and improve measurable billing and payment outcomes.

Location and Work Arrangement

San Antonio, TX (hybrid). This role is remote eligible in the continental U.S. with occasional business travel. Individuals residing within a 60-mile radius of a USAA office are expected to work on-site 4 days per week.

Salary

USD 114,080 - 218,030 per year. Compensation is determined within the salary range based on experience and market data, and the actual salary may vary by location. Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.

Responsibilities

  • Leverage digital or technology research, business and market intelligence, and data-driven insights to identify opportunities, propose solutions, create and maintain roadmaps, and improve performance.
  • Convert digital or technology product and experience opportunities, including customer needs and wants, into initiatives such as requirements, epics, and features, and drive the execution strategy.
  • Collaborate with relevant stakeholders and SMEs (Business, UX, Technology, Ops, Marketing, and others) to move complex opportunities from idea through market validation.
  • Lead development of business case artifacts and hypotheses to support scoping and prioritization.
  • Use advanced data-driven problem-solving to understand and report product and experience performance against KPIs and KRIs.
  • Generate insights using a variety of tools and resources to identify opportunities for digital and technology product and experience improvements.
  • Lead cross-functional product teams and relationships to discover and build new digital or technology products, experiences, and features aligned to strategic priorities.
  • Prepare presentations and other communication standards and templates to convey complex concepts to a diverse audience, including senior leadership.
  • Conduct internal and external research and situational analysis to identify and apply industry practices and trends to increase effectiveness.
  • Apply big-picture thinking to bring clarity across the team and stakeholders.
  • Maintain and apply advanced knowledge of the business, technology, UX, and relevant experiences and processes, supported by an academic understanding of product management.
  • Serve as a resource for team members and assist with onboarding new employees.
  • Ensure risks tied to business activities are identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in line with risk and compliance policies and procedures.

The Opportunity

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and partners to address complex problems and optimize customer experiences (internal and external) across market offerings.
  • Design and drive implementation of multi-platform technology and digital solutions.
  • Optimize and improve existing products and experiences across delivery channels and platforms to improve KPIs and KRIs.
  • Use User Centered Design and Design Thinking methodologies to bring digital and/or technology products to market.
  • Develop product strategy, vision, and goals, including justification of decisions related to the mix of innovation types and investments.

Key Technical and Product Focus

  • Deep understanding of Property & Casualty insurance billing processes.
  • Experience building and enhancing payment capabilities across digital channels, including knowledge of Credit/Debit card processing, ACH payments, Digital Wallets, Autopay capabilities, and Real Time Payments.
  • Experience reducing payment abandonment and improving completion rates.
  • Proven ownership of product roadmaps and delivery of customer-facing digital experiences.
  • Experience building capabilities across Web, Mobile, Chatbots, & IVR platforms.
  • Strong customer journey mapping capabilities.
  • Ability to define MVPs and phased execution strategies.
  • Experience prioritizing features based on customer impact and business value.
  • Ability to understand APIs, data flows, integrations, and service-oriented architecture.
  • Experience creating user stories, features, acceptance criteria, and business requirements.
  • Strong backlog management and prioritization experience.
  • Ability to influence without direct authority.
  • Extensive experience in Agile/Scrum environments.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree; OR 4 additional years of relevant education and/or experience.
  • 6 years of Digital/Technology Product Management experience, including Digital/Technology experience in Strategy/Planning, Innovation, User Experience, Process Engineering, Analytics, and/or Research/Testing.
  • Proven ability to develop, influence, present, and communicate complex concepts to cross-functional teams, non-technical users, and leadership.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in an Agile, Lean Product Development and Lean Portfolio Management environment.
  • Knowledge of digital and technology strategy and delivery related to roadmap development, journey mapping, competitive analysis and research, and situational analysis methods.
  • Knowledge of digital and technology strategy and delivery related to Experience Design and Human Centered Design concepts, roadmap development, journey mapping, competitive analysis and research, and situational analysis methods.

Compensation Range

The salary range for this position is $114,080.00 - $218,030.00.
