Director, Product Owner

Join Moderna and help shape end-to-end product lifecycle and supply readiness across key biopharmaceutical programs. Based onsite in Norwood, MA, this leadership role partners across CMC, Supply Chain, Regulatory, and Commercial to drive coordinated launches, compliant lifecycle changes, and reliable day-to-day execution.

How you’ll make an impact

• Own integrated product lifecycle and commercialization planning across markets and indications, translating global portfolio strategy into clear requirements, milestones, dependencies, decisions, and accountable owners.
• Set up and run lifecycle and launch governance across CMC, including stage gates and readiness criteria, Commit-to-File and Commit-to-Launch processes, launch coordination, and integration into long-range planning, IBP, and Product Phase S&OP/S&OE and country operating plans.
• Lead CMC commercialization strategy and readiness, translating market and patient/customer needs into product configurations, SKU strategy, launch sequencing, delivery models, and executable cross-functional plans.
• Own the end-to-end product value chain roadmap with value-stream maps, current and target conditions, performance metrics, improvement priorities, and physical, information/document, and financial flows.
• Drive product supply-chain and manufacturing network strategy with resilience across footprint planning, multi-site manufacturing and packaging configurations, capacity flexibility, intercompany/product-ownership flows, tax/tariff considerations, and scenario readiness for disruption.
• Integrate clinical and commercial supply planning across the lifecycle to ensure demand visibility, inventory strategy, planning and master-data readiness, reliable supply-chain operations, and smooth transition from launch to steady-state commercial supply.
• Manage post-launch performance and risk, including the product risk register, KPIs/success metrics, mitigation plans, performance gaps, and escalation of key risks and decisions through appropriate leadership forums.
• Lead post-launch CMC regulatory lifecycle and variation management (including ASU for 1010 & 1083), coordinating RTQs, global expansion readiness, market commitments, and health authority responses in partnership with the Variation Office and functional teams.
• Ensure commercial product image lifecycle readiness through coordination of global and local artwork, labeling and packaging configurations, manufacturing-site implementation, change control, serialization/traceability, master data, and supply readiness.
• Represent CMC/Product leadership in enterprise forums, driving cross-functional decisions, governance, financial planning, and alignment across CMC, Commercial, Regulatory, and Supply Chain.
• Coordinate major lifecycle initiatives including launches, tech transfers, network changes, and other cross-functional product efforts with clear ownership and dependencies.
• Drive operational excellence and continuous improvement by applying lifecycle learnings, data, benchmarking, and value-stream performance to build reusable standards and improve product and supply-chain execution.
• Perform additional duties as assigned from time to time.

What you bring

• A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Supply Chain Management, Life Sciences, and/or Engineering).
• 12+ years of experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry, focused on Supply Chain, CMC Program Management, Value Chain Leadership, or similar roles.
• Experience in CMC commercialization and understanding of value creation in the biopharmaceutical industry.

• Salary range: $167,000.00 - $300,700.00.
• Eligibility for an annual discretionary bonus, other incentive compensation, or an equity award, subject to company plan eligibility criteria and individual performance.

Working model

70/30 work model with 70% in-office structure.
