Job Description

Curacao is hiring a Mobile Product Manager to lead its mobile category in Los Angeles, CA onsite. In this role, you will own category performance across strategy, assortment, vendor negotiations, pricing and promotions, and inventory productivity for smartphones, mobile accessories, connected devices, and related services. You will help ensure customers get the right products at the right time while improving sell-through, margin, and inventory health.

Compensation: $70,500 - $85,000 per year. Experience required: 2+ years. Work location: in person.

What you’ll do

  • Develop and execute category plans to meet sales, gross profit, and inventory productivity goals.
  • Build a customer-focused assortment across brands, features, and price points that supports Curacao’s value proposition.
  • Track market trends, competitor assortments, product launches, and emerging technologies to surface opportunities.
  • Own the product lifecycle including new introductions, replenishment, transitions, markdowns, and discontinued inventory.
  • Build relationships with manufacturers, distributors, and applicable wireless service partners.
  • Negotiate product costs and terms, including payment terms, promotional funding, rebates, price protection, return rights, and marketing support.
  • Secure product availability and launch allocations while managing purchasing commitments and inventory exposure.
  • Assess vendor performance across profitability, delivery reliability, product quality, and post-sale support.
  • Set pricing and promotional strategies that balance competitiveness, customer value, and margin.
  • Partner with Marketing, E-commerce, Store Operations, and Consumer Finance to deliver coordinated campaigns.
  • Create product bundles and accessory offers to increase transaction value and customer satisfaction.
  • Measure promotional results and vendor funding to evaluate profitability and improve future programs.
  • Work with Planning and Supply Chain to forecast demand and manage purchasing, replenishment, and store allocation.
  • Maintain appropriate stock levels by product and location, accounting for seasonality, promotions, lead times, and transitions.
  • Spot and resolve issues like out-of-stocks, excess inventory, slow sellers, and aging products; recommend transfers, markdowns, vendor returns, and exit strategies to reduce obsolescence.
  • Define product placement, display standards, planograms, and demonstration requirements for the category.
  • Ensure product listings and sales materials clearly communicate specifications, compatibility, warranty coverage, and service requirements.
  • Coordinate vendor training and support store teams with tools to explain benefits and recommend suitable accessories and services.
  • Visit stores to collect customer and associate feedback that improves assortment and execution.
  • Review performance metrics such as sales, gross margin, inventory turns, sell-through, weeks of supply, and return trends; evaluate performance by SKU, brand, store, and channel.
  • Present category results, forecasts, purchasing recommendations, and action plans to leadership.

What you bring

  • 2+ years of experience in retail buying, category management, merchandising, or product management, preferably in mobile devices or consumer electronics.
  • Proven success managing sales, margins, vendor negotiations, and inventory.
  • Strong knowledge of smartphones, mobile accessories, device compatibility, and mobile product lifecycles.
  • Strong analytical capability, including Excel, plus experience with business intelligence and inventory planning tools.
  • Ability to translate sales and inventory data into purchasing and merchandising decisions.
  • Strong communication, organization, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish skills are preferred.
  • Ability to travel to stores, vendor meetings, and industry events as needed.
