Product Manager
Job Description
CardFlight seeks a Product Manager to join its US location-neutral team, translating customer needs into product requirements and driving merchant acquisition and retention through cross-functional collaboration.
Responsibilities
- Interview merchants and join reseller calls to surface pain points, then triangulate support tickets, feature requests, Pendo data, and usage metrics to form a complete picture of customer and partner needs.
- Convert discovery inputs into clear problem statements that align the team around what is being solved and why before proposing solutions.
- Collaborate with the broader product group to prioritize work, with decisions skewed toward features that drive revenue growth.
- Maintain and execute a balanced product roadmap that covers new features, platform improvements, and technical debt reduction.
- Explain roadmap rationale to engineering, marketing, operations, and partner teams so all stakeholders understand what is being built and why it matters.
- Own launch readiness by coordinating messaging, documentation, partner communications, and engineering tasks to ensure a successful feature release.
- Leverage product analytics to assess feature adoption and user behavior, translating insights into a narrative that justifies build, change, or deprioritization decisions.
- Translate customer and business needs into precise specs, user stories, or PRDs that engineering can implement.
- Operate within the engineering team's daily cadence, attending standups, refinements, and sprint planning, and review work to confirm it delivers the intended product outcome.
- Partner with marketing to review content, illustrate feature use cases, and ensure messaging reflects the product's capabilities.
- Coordinate with operations to share requirements, update documentation, and train teams so they can support merchants after launch.
- Work with the partnerships team to gather reseller and acquirer feedback and align release timing and communications for external partners.
Requirements
- 2 to 8 years of product management experience shipping in-house software.
- Proven track record of taking software products from concept to release.
- Curiosity and determination to uncover answers in ambiguous situations and drive toward clear outcomes.
- Natural collaborator who can unify engineering, marketing, operations, and partner teams to move work forward.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the discipline to manage multiple workstreams, deadlines, and stakeholders.
- Payments or fintech experience, with familiarity in acquiring, processing, card network rules, or merchant services.
- Comfort using product analytics tools and the ability to back product decisions with data.
