Product Manager Paid Media
Job Description
Lead the product strategy and delivery for Staples’ eCommerce paid media and digital experiences across mobile, desktop, and app platforms.
Responsibilities
- Own product strategy and roadmap for paid media channels including Google, Meta/Facebook, LinkedIn, retail media, product feeds, audience signals, measurement feedback loops, and conversion optimization.
- Partner with eCommerce, Marketing, Engineering, Analytics, and Data Science to build scalable capabilities that improve sponsored product discovery, strengthen first-party data and conversion signals, optimize measurement feedback loops, and drive profitable customer outcomes.
- Develop product and data feed capabilities that enable AI-powered search tools and digital agents to discover Staples products and drive transactions.
- Define, manage, and prioritize the product backlog for assigned digital products, platforms, features, or capabilities.
- Align product priorities with digital strategy, customer needs, and business objectives in collaboration with leadership and business stakeholders.
- Translate customer insights, analytics, market trends, and stakeholder input into user stories, requirements, acceptance criteria, and product recommendations.
- Act as a primary interface across business stakeholders, engineering teams, UX, analytics, data science, and external partners.
- Prioritize user stories, bugs, enhancements, and technical work based on customer value, business impact, team capacity, dependencies, and delivery timelines.
- Collaborate with engineering and UX through Agile ceremonies, including backlog refinement, sprint planning, product reviews, testing, and release readiness.
- Monitor performance using OKRs, KPIs, customer behavior data, feedback, and digital analytics to identify optimization opportunities.
- Identify and resolve complex product issues, dependencies, and roadblocks; escalate highly complex or out-of-policy matters as appropriate.
- Support discovery, experimentation, solution validation, and continuous improvement to enhance digital product performance.
- Use AI productivity tools (for example, Microsoft Copilot and Claude) to accelerate deliverables such as discovery synthesis, requirements development, backlog refinement, and stakeholder communications.
- Partner with engineering, analytics, data science, and UX to evaluate AI/ML-enabled opportunities, clarify desired customer and business outcomes, and support responsible testing and validation.
- Mentor less experienced team members by sharing product management practices, Agile knowledge, and digital product expertise.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Business, Technology, Product Management, Information Systems, Computer Science, Marketing, Engineering, or similar) or equivalent work experience.
- 5+ years of related product management experience, with a focus on eCommerce or digital products.
- Experience managing product backlogs, user stories, requirements, acceptance criteria, or feature prioritization.
- Experience working with engineering, UX, analytics, and data science to deliver digital products and platform enhancements.
- Experience managing the end-to-end lifecycle of digital products from conception through development, launch, and iteration.
- Experience using customer insights, digital analytics, KPIs, OKRs, or performance metrics to guide product decisions.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, dependencies, and stakeholders across cross-functional initiatives.
- Experience producing written product documentation, stakeholder communications, roadmap updates, or product recommendations.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills with a strong bias toward data-based decision making.
- Master’s degree in a related field.
- Professional certifications in Agile methodologies (for example, CSM, SAFe Agilist, or PMI-ACP) or product management certifications (for example, AIPMM Certified Product Manager).
- 2+ years supporting paid media channels, platforms, or products, including audience targeting, conversion optimization, campaign performance, and product feeds.
- Experience with CDPs and tools including Adobe Analytics and Adobe Target, personalization/testing tools, and product feed management platforms such as Feedonomics.
- Experience translating paid media, eCommerce, or data product requirements into technical delivery plans using Jira and Confluence.
- Experience managing digital products across mobile, desktop, app, or eCommerce platforms.
- Experience with A/B testing, experimentation, product performance measurement, conversion optimization, and customer journey analysis.
- Experience working with AI/ML-enabled products and capabilities including personalization, automation, search, recommendations, decisioning, or similar data-driven digital capabilities.
- Experience partnering with data science or engineering teams to define success metrics, test AI/ML outputs, validate solution quality, and support responsible iteration after launch.
- Experience using AI productivity tools to support product discovery, requirements development, backlog management, analysis, and stakeholder communications.
- Experience in B2B, retail, supply chain, office products, commercial eCommerce, or related industries.

Salary: USD 89,000 - 121,000 per year
