Job Description

The Product Operations Lead helps bring the store product strategy to life through day-to-day product operations and inventory management. Working as part of the store leadership team, this role drives inventory shifts, supports back of house processes, and helps ensure product availability that supports a world-class guest experience.

Based in Madison, WI with onsite work, this contract position is scheduled to meet store needs and may include mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays.

What you’ll do

  • Collaborate with store leadership to execute the store product strategy through product operations.
  • Plan, prioritize, manage, and lead inventory processing and accuracy activities in line with standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Ensure product actions are completed (including pull backs, consolidations, and repricing).
  • Lead inventory shifts by engaging team members and creating a fun, productive atmosphere.
  • Monitor product levels and communicate findings to support sell-through strategy and optimal product availability for guests.
  • Review and interpret daily business data and metrics to inform actions, such as analyzing sell-through data and advising store leadership on product focus and, for outlets, pricing recommendations.
  • Participate in the store hiring process, including recruitment, selection, hiring recommendations, onboarding, and training.
  • Address team member performance through direct feedback, in-the-moment recognition, coaching, demonstrations, and hands-on support for learning and development.
  • Contribute to a respectful and inclusive environment by building supportive working relationships.
  • When serving as Supervisor on Duty during store open hours, move dynamically on the floor to deliver technical product education and help establish a world-class guest experience.

Experience and qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of experience.
  • Some experience with inventory management, product or visual merchandising, stocking, or planning and logistics, including using business technology to complete work.
  • Some experience leading, mentoring, delegating, or implementing processes with others.
  • Legally authorized to work in the country where the store is located.
  • Ability to travel to the assigned store with reliable transportation.
  • Schedule availability can vary based on store needs, with shifts typically scheduled for mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays; peak periods or special circumstances may require early mornings or late nights/overnights for some team members.

Work context

  • Moves through the store in both front-of-house areas (bright lights and loud music) and back-of-house areas (no windows or natural light).
  • Works as part of a team and may also work independently; may use a computer or other technical devices.
  • May occasionally involve moving boxes up to 30 lbs (13.6 kg) or using ladders to reach materials.
  • For experiential stores with food/beverage service only: may involve industrial kitchen equipment and exposure to heat for food or beverage preparation.

Compensation and benefits

  • Hourly base pay range: $22.00 - $25.25/hour (subject to minimum wage in the location).
  • Target bonus: $2.00/hour.
  • Total target base pay range: $24.00 - $27.25/hour.

Preferred job assets (nice to have)

  • High school diploma/GED/equivalent, or above.
  • Retail, sales, distribution center, or warehouse operations experience, including reviewing and interpreting business reports and metrics to inform action.
  • For experiential stores with food/beverage service only: Food safety and/or liquor service certification.
