Product Owner, Statements & Vendor Notices
Job Description
Hybrid contract Product Owner role focused on Statements & Vendor Notices for a financial services initiative.
Responsibilities
- Lead business discovery and requirements-gathering with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Define, prioritize, maintain, and govern the project backlog through the full implementation lifecycle.
- Convert business needs into epics, features, user stories, and detailed acceptance criteria.
- Facilitate backlog refinement, stakeholder reviews, and requirement validation discussions.
- Partner with the Project Manager on scope, dependencies, risks, assumptions, and delivery milestones.
- Act as the primary business liaison among internal stakeholders, technology delivery teams, and vendor partners.
- Ensure requirements and delivered functionality align to business goals, operational needs, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Support user acceptance testing (UAT), including test-scenario development, defect triage, stakeholder coordination, and validation of completed functionality.
- Support implementation planning, readiness activities, and post-implementation stabilization as needed.
- Maintain clear documentation covering decisions, requirements, priorities, and changes across the project lifecycle.
Requirements
- 5+ years Product Owner experience, preferably in complex technology implementations within financial services.
- 8+ years experience in software development, software delivery, business analysis, product management, or a related technology field.
- Proven experience creating, prioritizing, and managing Agile backlogs.
- Demonstrated ability to write epics, features, user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional requirements.
- Track record partnering with Project Managers on complex, cross-functional implementation efforts.
- Experience supporting vendor conversions, platform migrations, enterprise technology implementations, or large-scale business transformation efforts.
- Knowledge of statement delivery, customer or member notices, correspondence, document composition, or related operational communication processes.
- Strong stakeholder management, facilitation, communication, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to balance business priorities, technical constraints, regulatory requirements, and delivery timelines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Banking or credit union (or broader financial institution) experience.
- Experience with core banking platforms and third-party financial-services technology solutions.
- Experience supporting core banking platform implementations, conversions, or integrations.
- Experience with statements, notices, document-composition solutions, or customer communication platforms.
- Familiarity with regulatory communications, account statements, notices, disclosures, and customer or member correspondence requirements.
- Experience working with external software vendors and implementation partners.
Compensation
- Pay range: $50-$60/hr (Washington).
- Employment: W2 plus benefits.
- Base pay may vary based on job-related knowledge, skills, candidate location, and experience.
