Senior Product Manager II, Notifications & Communications Platform

Job Description

This onsite role in Boston, MA leads the vision and execution of Compass's Notifications & Communications Platform, with a focus on scalable email and push notification architecture and governance to support agents and platform users.

Responsibilities

  • Articulate and drive the product vision, strategy, and roadmap for the Notifications & Communications Platform, balancing immediate impact with long-term evolution.
  • Scale the platform to support hundreds of thousands of real estate agents across thousands of independent franchise brokerages, enabling them to create, send, and manage promotional email campaigns directly within the platform using built‑in tools.
  • Serve as the internal subject matter expert on email deliverability, monitor industry shifts, translate them into platform capabilities, and prioritize these changes across product roadmaps.
  • Collaborate with the Email Service Provider to build and maintain tooling that monitors domain health and sender analytics to maximize inbox deliverability for both system and agent communications.
  • Design scalable notification settings and preference centers that give agents and consumers granular control over their communications.
  • Partner closely with Engineering, UX Design, and cross-functional business teams while making data-informed trade-offs among scope, quality, and speed.

Requirements

  • Six or more years in product management or equivalent, with experience building and launching software products and owning foundational platform tools and services.
  • Two or more years specifically focused on email and push notifications, communications platforms, or email infrastructure.
  • Extensive experience with ESPs and high‑volume email marketing platforms (eg, Mailgun, SendGrid, Mailchimp, Brevo). Nice to have: experience with high‑volume voice and SMS platforms (Twilio, Sinch) and related compliance standards.
  • Expert knowledge of deliverability best practices, commercial marketing regulatory compliance, authentication standards (SPF, DKIM, DMARC), and domain reputation management.
  • Ability to translate complex technical constraints into clear product strategies for executive stakeholders and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong collaboration skills with Engineering and UX Design teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication that conveys clarity and confidence.
  • Ability to influence others and lead without formal authority, particularly in cross-functional and executive settings.
  • Capability to thrive and adapt in a fast-paced, high-growth, and rapidly changing environment.
