Job Description

This remote Senior Product Manager role focuses on guiding complex product initiatives across behavioral health EHR software, medication management solutions, and regulated healthcare workflows, coordinating both technical and clinical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Independently assess customer requirements, workflows, industry trends, and technical standards to steer product development in line with market needs, with emphasis on complex features and initiatives.
  • Draft functional and technical specifications for advanced software enhancements, collaborating with engineering to translate complex user needs into actionable features.
  • Perform competitive benchmarking across capabilities, feature sets, and performance to identify high-impact improvement opportunities.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation for internal teams to support implementation, support, and ongoing development of complex solutions.
  • Contribute across all stages of the product lifecycle, including requirements gathering, technical planning, system design, testing, deployment, and post-release support, with a focus on independent management of complex programs.
  • Engage with stakeholders to elicit, clarify, and prioritize technical requirements for the roadmap, often handling the most challenging initiatives.
  • Design software solutions that comply with regulatory requirements (HIPAA, ONC), interoperability protocols (HL7, FHIR), and OTP-specific regulations (42 CFR Part 8, DEA Schedule II), addressing complex compliance and integration scenarios independently.
  • Maintain and communicate a living technical product roadmap, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and timelines, and owning major roadmap elements.
  • Provide technical expertise to sales, customer success, and implementation teams, articulating product capabilities to customers, especially for advanced or high-priority offerings.
  • Prepare and present technical reports, analyses, and forecasts for management on product performance, reliability, and utilization, including complex data.
  • Support software release cycles by coordinating with engineering to ensure production readiness and address deployment concerns, particularly for major or technically challenging releases.
  • Lead or participate in technical assessments of proposed features, including ROI analysis, feasibility studies, and schedule development with cross-functional teams, focusing on complex or high-impact projects.
  • Collaborate across engineering, QA, and deployment to launch new technical features and modules, proactively driving cross-functional initiatives.
  • Recommend pricing strategies based on detailed technical research, resource requirements, and projected usage, especially for sophisticated or new offerings.
  • Stay current with technological advancements and industry best practices through workshops, literature reviews, and professional involvement, then share insights with the team.
  • Generate regular and ad hoc technical reports for business and internal stakeholders, supporting special technical projects and often leading the most complex initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Product Management, Nursing, Pharmacy, or a related field; experience may substitute for education.
  • 7+ years in a product management role for an EHR, with a strong preference for medication management experience; active or inactive RN or PharmD licensure is highly preferred, with hands-on clinical exposure to medication management workflows.
  • Familiarity with acute care settings and their medication administration workflows.
  • Proven success leading and independently executing complex, customer-facing product initiatives that improve conversion and drive strategic outcomes.
  • Ability to rapidly learn internal product processes, develop deep business expertise, and handle complex product challenges autonomously.
  • Strong analytical, creative, and synthetic thinking skills to solve advanced technical and business problems.
  • Excellent verbal, facilitation, and written communication abilities, capable of conveying complex concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Effective customer service skills with prompt, professional issue resolution, especially in high-stakes situations.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with diverse groups at all organizational levels and to lead cross-functional teams.
  • Demonstrated capacity to work independently and to lead within team environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Pragmatic certification or similar credential
  • Experience as a clinical or other behavioral healthcare provider
  • Experience as an EHR administrator or other clinical software
  • Experience with OTP/MAT workflows and SAMHSA/DEA regulatory requirements for controlled substance dispensing
