Senior Technical Product Manager
Job Description
Blue Origin is building the technologies that expand access to space, and this role helps take new satellite communications opportunities from early signals to funded product roadmaps. As a Senior Technical Product Manager on Terawave, you will use business cases, discovery, and prototyping to drive horizon-three innovation, with close collaboration across Engineering, Corporate Development, and Finance.
Location: Seattle, WA (onsite)
Salary: USD 169,347 - 237,085 per year (WA base pay range: $169,347.00 - $237,085.80; other sites may differ)
What you’ll focus on
- Identify and evaluate emerging product opportunities, including new customer segments, application verticals, and platform extensions for Terawave.
- Build structured business cases for new investments, including market sizing, customer validation, technical feasibility, and a financial model.
- Lead customer and ecosystem discovery by conducting research interviews, synthesizing market signals, and uncovering unmet needs.
- Prototype and test product hypotheses using lightweight experiments such as landing page tests, design sprints, or pilot commitments.
- Develop relationships with design partners, strategic investors, and ecosystem players relevant to new product areas.
- Present innovation proposals to the Head of Product and senior leadership to support review and funding decisions.
- Partner with Engineering, Corp Dev, and Finance to scope investment requirements and evaluate build/buy/partner paths.
- Monitor the competitive landscape and adjacent market developments.
- Create and evolve a product innovation framework and process for the Terawave PM team.
- Mentor other PMs.
Skills and background
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical field.
- 10+ years of product management, with demonstrated ownership of new product or new business development initiatives.
- Proven ability to take a product from concept to a funded roadmap item, including business case development and executive sign-off.
- Strong financial modeling experience, including market sizing, unit economics, build/buy/partner analysis, and NPV/IRR for capital-intensive programs.
- Excellent research and synthesis skills, translating ambiguous market signals into structured product opportunity documents.
- Executive presence, with comfort presenting speculative ideas with appropriate rigor and confidence.
- U.S. Person eligibility.
Desired qualifications: MBA; experience in satellite telecommunications, commercial space, defense connectivity, or adjacent deep-tech verticals; familiarity with spectrum regulation, ITU filings, or commercial launch market dynamics.
