Technical Product Manager
Job Description
The Technical Product Manager role at Mayo Clinic is a limited-tenure position designed to lead and modernize faculty data and academic career information through FIMS and ACIM. You will operate as an integration and delivery leader across business, operational, data, and technical teams, translating needs into technical strategy and execution.
Program Focus
- Lead Mayo Clinic’s Faculty Information Management System (FIMS) and Academic Career Information Modernization (ACIM) program, an enterprise initiative modernizing faculty data, academic career processes, reporting, and supporting technologies.
- Drive requirements management, governance, prioritization, data readiness, system integration, organizational change, and delivery across multiple interdependent workstreams.
Technical Product Leadership
- Develop the vision, technical strategy, and technical requirements to align with business requirements, roadmap planning, and execution for assigned technical product or capability.
- Support product discovery and development using data and research to strengthen end user experience.
- Ensure alignment among Engineering, Data Science, Product, Business, and Platform priorities in the context of Mayo Clinic’s broader strategy, while meeting end user needs.
- Own the technical product life cycle, including setting vision, managing the team to achieve OKRs, deriving feature intention maps, managing capacity against scope, building or acquiring technology, and delivering a best-in-class user or customer experience on time and within budget.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work with a cross-functional team that may include experts in design, IT, analytics, data engineers, data scientists, and others.
- Assist in leading a collaborative team with business partners, customers, and stakeholders across areas such as Data Science, Engineering, UX/UI, Operations, Engagement, and AI.
- Collaborate across CDH domains and Mayo Clinic Shared Services, including business partners (Practice, Education, Research, Administration, Platform, International, Provider Relations) and internal Mayo Clinic clients, such as consultants, clinical and research professionals, administrators, and external business partners.
Delivery, Planning, and Risk Management
- Apply Agile product methodologies and drive technical product strategy through design and development execution.
- Ensure delivery of high-value products aligned to business goals and focused on optimizing user experience.
- Proactively manage and monitor product and operational risks, including regulatory and security risks, to prevent or mitigate impact to customers and the business.
- Monitor and manage product schedules, scope, and budgets to deliver as scheduled.
- Set and manage product performance scorecards and OKRs.
Stakeholder Partnerships and Feedback
- Establish partnerships with business stakeholders to ensure product outcomes meet business requirements and align to other organizational strategies and priorities.
- Use market and customer feedback and data to guide future product and feature development.
- Advocate for end users by building and improving features based on pain points and focusing on ease of use across product technology and workflows.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree plus 3 years of technical digital product management experience (3 years with digital products and platforms), or a minimum of 7 years of direct digital product management with HS diploma or GED required.
- Authorization to work and remain in the United States without necessity for Mayo Clinic sponsorships now or in the future.
- Experience in managing complex products or managing a family of multiple products.
- Experience in SDLC.
- Certification in Scrum Product Owner within 1 year.
- Prior healthcare experience is preferred.

Compensation and Schedule
- Salary range: USD 108,201 - 162,406 per year.
- Schedule: Monday - Friday; 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.
- Location: Rochester, MN (hybrid), with occasional on-site expectations based on business needs; must be located within 100 miles of a Mayo Clinic campus.
