Job Description

The Associate Director, CRM Product Owner will support strategy, development, and delivery of priority CRM capabilities across the US CRM ecosystem. This role owns end-to-end delivery for assigned capabilities, translates business needs into actionable requirements, manages backlog execution in an agile model, and ensures governance, privacy, and compliance throughout delivery.

What you’ll do

  • Own and deliver a defined product area: Lead end-to-end delivery of assigned CRM capabilities such as field productivity, customer engagement workflows, and medical engagement from discovery through release, hypercare, enhancements, and ongoing maintenance.
  • Translate business needs into requirements: Partner with stakeholders to gather and document insights, then translate them into prioritized product features including user stories, acceptance criteria, and success measures.
  • Manage and refine the backlog: Maintain backlog health through prioritization, refinement cadence, dependency management, and defining ready and done criteria aligned to quarterly and PI planning and stakeholder priorities.
  • Drive disciplined agile execution: Coordinate with delivery teams to plan, execute, and track work; remove blockers; manage scope trade-offs; and support predictable, high-quality releases.
  • Improve processes and user experience: Identify workflow pain points, propose enhancements, validate solutions with users, and support change adoption through documentation and enablement.
  • Partner across business and IT: Align with CRM product managers, architecture, analytics, privacy and legal, and commercial and medical stakeholders to ensure requirements, sequencing, and release readiness are coordinated.
  • Ensure governance, privacy, and compliance: Follow established governance processes and support risk assessments so solutions meet regulatory, privacy, security, and data standards.
  • Mentor and coordinate delivery resources: Provide day-to-day direction to extended team members such as analysts and contractors and contribute to capability building across the product owner community.
  • Support change enablement and adoption: Work with training and communications leads so releases are understood, adopted, and measured, and incorporate feedback into iterative improvements.
  • Communicate status and outcomes: Share concise updates on roadmap items, risks, decisions needed, and measurable outcomes with CRM product management leadership and stakeholders.
  • Contribute to product strategy and continuous improvement: Use market and industry trends, user feedback, and performance data to inform roadmap recommendations and operational improvements.
  • Maintain platform and domain awareness: Stay current on CRM platforms such as Salesforce and Veeva and evolving best practices, and apply learnings within the Novartis ecosystem.

What you bring

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in a related field required; Master of Science and/or MBA preferred.
  • Experience: 5-7+ years across product management, technology strategy, innovation, or leadership roles, preferably within pharmaceutical, healthcare, or CRM sectors.
  • CRM leadership: Proven success driving product management capabilities for large-scale CRM implementations.
  • CRM ecosystem knowledge: Deep understanding of Sales, Marketing and Service, including Salesforce (Agentforce, Marketing Cloud, Health Cloud, Data360, and core platform) and Veeva.
  • AI and data platform understanding: Experience with CRM, AI, and data platform architectures such as Salesforce Data Cloud, OpenAI, Snowflake, and data lake technologies.
  • Product operations accountability: Experience managing backlog health and prioritization, agile practices and ceremonies, and driving strategic innovation.
  • Collaboration and communication: Excellent communication skills to build stakeholder buy-in and alignment.
  • AI-supported techniques: Experience using AI-supported product management approaches including LLM-supported user-story creation and process mapping.
  • Cross-functional alignment: Ability to align key stakeholders to create and support streamlined commercial CRM strategy.
