Payment Product Operations Specialist

Austin-based, onsite Payment Product Operations Specialist role focused on automation and scalability of USD/CAD payment rails for Wise's North America team.

Responsibilities

• Scale the "Unscalable": Audit USD/CAD payment routes to identify manual friction and drive automation and workflow improvements to remove bottlenecks.
• Bridge the Gap: Serve as the strategic connective tissue between Product, Engineering, and Ops; translate technical constraints into operational reality and vice versa.
• Own the Lifecycle: Lead high-impact projects from scoping and data analysis to rollout; you own the Go button.
• Drive Data-Informed Strategy: Use SQL and LightDash to define and track KPIs that matter; prove impact through metric improvements.
• Amplify the Team: Mentor Senior Specialists and guide them through complex project delivery, scoping, and execution; elevating team capabilities is a defining part of your role.
• SME Leadership: Serve as the North American subject matter expert; act as first-line strategist for mitigation and resolution during complex payment incidents or regulatory shifts.
• Build the Blueprint: Establish SLAs and KPIs for new product features, ensuring quality remains consistent as Wise grows.

Requirements

• Experience: 3+ years in Product Operations, Business Operations, or Process Optimization within a high-growth tech environment.
• Analytical Powerhouse: Proficient in SQL and LightDash; you uncover narratives in data, not just numbers.
• Execution-Focused: Demonstrated ability to move mid-to-large-scale initiatives from vague idea to successful launch.
• Clear Communicator: Able to explain a complex technical bottleneck to a stakeholder and a business need to a developer without losing the underlying rationale.
• Grit: Comfortable operating in an ambiguity-rich scale-up environment and making decisions with partial information while course-correcting quickly.
• Payments Nerd (Bonus): Deep knowledge of North American payment rails (FedWire, FedACH, FedNow, RTP) is a strong advantage.
