Job Description

APMEX is seeking a Product Manager/Buyer in Oklahoma City, with a hybrid work arrangement. The role offers a base salary of USD 60,000 to 65,000 per year and a comprehensive benefits package designed to support health, financial security, and work-life balance. You will manage product lines, shape assortment strategies, negotiate exclusive vendor offerings, oversee pricing and inventory, and monitor KPIs to improve profitability. Location and Compensation

Oklahoma City, OK (hybrid) • USD 60,000 - 65,000 per year

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage multiple product lines in a way that positively contributes to the company’s bottom line.
  • Collaborate with the Divisional Merchandise Manager to develop a comprehensive assortment strategy that meets consumer needs.
  • Partner with outside vendors to develop exclusive product offerings and negotiate pricing.
  • Maintain appropriate inventory levels, price products to stay competitive, and monitor corporate KPIs to drive profitability.
  • Develop and manage a strategic business plan for the life cycle of a product line.
  • Purchase new inventory using existing relationships or by establishing new vendor relationships.
  • Update buy and sell prices on the website, verify alignment with market prices and inventory position, and ensure margins meet profitability goals.
  • Research and source new items, communicate product details, quantity, and buy price to the Wholesale Purchasing Department, and post purchase information as needed.
  • Develop and communicate clear concepts and plans to expand a product line.
  • Submit weekly recommendations to Site Merchandising for email promotions and website banners, forecasting unit sales and revenue.
  • Create product listings with specifications and descriptive content.
  • Coordinate with the photography team to ensure imagery is available.
  • Review inventory reports, including out-of-stock, depletions, and low stock notices, to maintain levels and use sales or clearance channels to move excess inventory; list products on the site as shipments arrive.
  • Review daily and weekly reports to accurately manage product lines.
  • Analyze product line performance on a weekly and monthly basis to provide insights and identify strategic opportunities.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge through educational workshops, publications, networking, and professional societies.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of related experience is required.
  • Knowledge of pricing strategies and profit margins is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, Merchandising or a related field is required.
