Job Description

Join Salesforce in a craft-focused, execution-intensive Senior Product Manager role that steers the Lightning Design System at scale. You’ll own platform health and the roadmap across SLDS versions 1 and 2, drive UI customization across pro-code to no-code/low-code, and push improvements to the Design Systems website. This onsite position thrives on collaboration with engineering, design, and accessibility specialists to deliver reliable, scalable design tooling for customers worldwide.

Salary: USD 172,500 - 285,800 per year

Responsibilities

  • Define and drive the roadmap for SLDS UI customization across pro-code and no-code/low-code experiences.
  • Capture requirements and acceptance criteria for new styling capabilities, ensuring consistency and coverage from ISV partners to enterprise admins.
  • Work closely with design and engineering to shape strategy and execute initiatives.
  • Prioritize opportunities using user insights, data, and business objectives, adapting rapidly to evolving signals.
  • Steer the Design Systems website roadmap, the main destination for developer and designer documentation, component references, and contribution guidance.
  • Identify and prioritize improvements to maximize builder self-service and reduce support workload.
  • Collaborate with content, engineering, design, and the broader community to keep documentation accurate and up to date.
  • Own the SLDS 1 and SLDS 2 backlog and release roadmap, balancing new features, bug fixes, technical debt, and ongoing compliance work.
  • Maintain backward compatibility so updates support existing customer implementations without disruption.
  • Coordinate with design tooling teams to keep Figma UI kits, linters, and validators aligned with the component library.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of product management experience, with meaningful time spent on design systems, component libraries, developer tools, or frontend platforms at scale.
  • Deep understanding of CSS architecture, design tokens, and component-level styling; ability to discuss styling API tradeoffs with engineers.
  • Fluency bridging design and engineering, with knowledge of the DOM, CSS, accessibility specs (ARIA, screen readers), and native familiarity with Figma.
  • Experience writing rigorous acceptance criteria, managing agile backlogs, and leading cross-functional delivery.
  • Strong analytical instincts for interpreting telemetry, accessibility audits, and user research to guide prioritization.
  • Clear, concise communicator across technical and non-technical audiences.
