Staff Data Center Systems Product Manager

Super Micro Computer is hiring a Staff Data Center Systems Product Manager in San Jose, CA. In this onsite role, you will define and deliver next-generation full-stack datacenter solutions for AI infrastructure by combining GPU platforms, high-speed networking, scalable storage, and cooling technologies, then aligning those plans across engineering, software, operations, and go-to-market stakeholders.

Product scope and roadmap

• Partner with Supermicro’s Datacenter Building Blocks to define specific solutions and contribute to a DCBBS product roadmap focused on integrated datacenter offerings.
• Advance tightly integrated solutions that connect GPU-accelerated computing, high-speed networking, and scalable storage.
• Use market and customer insights to influence feature prioritization, packaging, and differentiation.

AI infrastructure and technical direction

• Track industry trends in AI infrastructure, liquid cooling, and next-generation data pipelines.
• Coordinate development of solutions featuring GPUs such as NVIDIA HGX, AMD MI300X, and Intel Gaudi, along with SmartNICs, NVMe storage, and AI-ready platforms.
• Collaborate with Supermicro product teams to assemble complete datacenter solutions optimized for both direct liquid cooling (DLC) and high-efficiency air cooling.
• Work with AI/ML architects to understand evolving infrastructure needs for GenAI training, inference, and massive data processing workloads.
• Apply knowledge of Supermicro products and features to support large language models, data lakes, and AI pipelines.

Customer evaluation, software integration, and operations

• Support TCO and energy-efficiency evaluations in customer datacenter environments.
• Collaborate with Supermicro Supercloud software and BIOS/BMC teams so DCBBS solutions leverage monitoring and analytics capabilities for predictive maintenance, performance tuning, and workload-aware optimization for AI and HPC use cases.
• Represent the product roadmap in internal and external briefings.

Research and go-to-market enablement

• Conduct research with hyperscalers, enterprise customers, and channel partners to understand evolving AI datacenter requirements.
• Develop executive-level presentations, customer-facing collateral, and sales tools that explain the value of Supermicro’s DCBBS AI cloud infrastructure portfolio.

Required qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Computer/Electrical Engineering.
• 12+ years of experience in product management, solutions architecture, or technical marketing.
• Strong background in datacenter infrastructure (servers, networking, storage), AI platforms, or cloud-native environments.
• Proven experience driving complex projects in cross-functional, matrixed organizations.
• Excellent presentation skills, including proficiency in PowerPoint and storytelling for both executive and technical audiences.
• Ability to perform market research, competitive analysis, and customer engagement activities.
• High-level understanding of the product lifecycle from concept to launch.

Key technologies include NVIDIA HGX, AMD Instinct, AMD MI300X, Intel Gaudi, NVMe-over-Fabrics, Supermicro DLC/air cooling, AI-aware telemetry and monitoring systems, SmartNICs, Supermicro Supercloud, BIOS/BMC, PowerPoint, Kubernetes, Jira, Aha!, GenAI, AI/ML, and Agile methodologies.

Preferred qualifications

• Experience with Supermicro hardware, NVIDIA-based AI infrastructure, Kubernetes, or cloud orchestration.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies and product management tools such as Jira and Aha!
• Prior experience in enterprise IT, datacenter design, or cloud infrastructure product development.
• MBA or advanced degree in a technical or business field.

Salary and compensation

The salary range for this role is USD 200,000 - 230,000 per year and will depend on factors including location, level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience, and comparison to other employees in this role. In addition to a comprehensive benefits package, candidates may be eligible for other compensation, including participation in bonus and equity award programs.
