Product Owner - DevSecOps Automation

Dominion Energy is hiring a Senior Product Owner to shape the direction and ongoing evolution of a DevSecOps Automation Platform. This hybrid role in Richmond, VA focuses on roadmap leadership, backlog ownership, and driving adoption of enterprise standards that help software engineering teams deliver faster while strengthening security, quality, compliance, and operational efficiency.

In this position, you will connect product consumers, engineering teams, cybersecurity, and leadership to translate priorities into platform capabilities across the software delivery lifecycle and automation toolchain.

What you’ll do

• Define and maintain the strategic roadmap for DevSecOps automation capabilities.
• Align platform investments with enterprise technology and application modernization objectives.
• Set product vision, success measures, and value realization metrics.
• Identify opportunities to reduce delivery friction through automation and self-service.
• Own and prioritize the DevSecOps product backlog.
• Translate business and engineering requirements into epics, features, and user stories.
• Balance priorities across security, compliance, developer experience, platform reliability, and operational efficiency.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to define acceptance criteria and release objectives.
• Drive adoption of enterprise CI/CD standards and automation practices.
• Partner with engineering teams to improve developer productivity and the overall platform experience.
• Lead roadmap planning for capabilities including:

  • GitHub Actions
  • Azure DevOps integrations
  • Security automation
  • Infrastructure as Code
  • Automated testing
  • Secret management
  • Software supply chain security
  • Deployment automation
  • Platform observability
• Act as the primary liaison between product consumers, engineering teams, cybersecurity, and leadership.
• Facilitate workshops and requirements gathering sessions.
• Communicate roadmap updates, risks, dependencies, and business outcomes to stakeholders.
• Build consensus across multiple technology organizations.

What you bring

• 8+ years of experience in Product Management, Product Ownership, Platform Engineering, DevOps, or Software Engineering.
• 5+ years working in Agile product delivery environments.
• Experience managing enterprise platform products serving multiple engineering teams.
• Experience with Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) processes and automation.
• Strong understanding of DevSecOps principles and modern engineering practices.
• Proven ability to manage competing priorities across multiple stakeholders.
• Exceptional communication, facilitation, and leadership skills.

Education

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Master’s degree preferred in Computer Science, Engineering.

Compensation and location

• Location: Richmond, VA (hybrid)
• Salary: USD 116,300 - 151,100 per year
