Staff Product Manager
Job Description
Bobyard is seeking a Staff Product Manager in San Francisco, CA (onsite) to operate at a company-wide level. This senior individual contributor role will define product direction for Bobyard’s takeoff platform and lead new 0 to 1 bets over the next 2 to 3 years.
Role scope
This position combines long-range product strategy with hands-on execution. You will set a multi-year vision for the takeoff experience, extend it to adjacent pre-construction workflows, and translate that vision into a roadmap the company can deliver against.
Responsibilities
- Own product strategy across multiple surfaces, establishing the multi-year direction for takeoff and adjacent pre-construction workflows, and converting it into an actionable roadmap.
- Serve as one of the deepest customer experts in the building by building lasting relationships with estimators, PMs, and GCs across segments, then turning learning into strong market conviction.
- Lead 0 to 1 initiatives from thesis through scale by identifying new opportunities, sizing them, building the case to leadership, and driving delivery from first prototype to repeatable revenue.
- Shape the AI product experience by partnering with ML and engineering leads on where automation should occur, where humans should remain in the loop, and how accuracy and trust are measured.
- Drive leadership-level cross-functional alignment across engineering, design, sales, marketing, and CS to coordinate positioning, pricing, packaging, and launch strategy.
- Raise the product bar by defining spec-writing practices, prioritization, outcome measurement, and discovery processes, and by mentoring other PMs to scale the product function.
Requirements
- 7+ years of product management experience, including proven ownership of strategy for a product or product line rather than only features.
- Shipped at least one 0 to 1 product that achieved real customer traction.
- Experience building AI/ML-driven products, or B2B software for complex, workflow-heavy users.
- Strong judgment under ambiguity, including the ability to make decisions, explain reasoning, and adjust quickly as data changes.
- Ability to synthesize input from customers, sales, and engineering into a clear, defensible plan and secure senior stakeholder alignment.
- Fast learning capability, with no construction background required, alongside the ability to become a domain expert quickly.
- Experience mentoring PMs or contributing to the development of product practices on a growing team.
Compensation and benefits
- Salary: USD 160,000 - 185,000 per year.
- Equity: equity options with a target range of $150K–$185K.
- Team: work directly with a small, hands-on team.
Compensation philosophy
Bobyard offers competitive, top-of-market compensation to recognize individuals who ship impactful work and help drive company success. Individual compensation is tailored based on role, experience, and contributions, with additional performance-based rewards. The stated compensation range is $160K - $185K.
