Job Description
Join American Airlines and help shape a multi-year transformation that modernizes flight operations and enables future-ready capabilities across Crew and Operations. This Associate Product Manager (Technology Products) role sits within the Next-Gen Operations Platform and Business team in the Integrated Operations Center division, where you will define business capabilities, shape future-state processes, and ensure initiatives deliver measurable value to the operation. The work combines product discovery with cross-team execution, partnering closely with technology groups to drive a multi-phase program forward.
What you’ll do
- Lead product discovery through market research, competitive analysis, and trend forecasting to guide product direction
- Translate broad company objectives into specific problems to solve, tied to measurable success metrics
- Build and maintain an initiative source of truth document including overview, stakeholder mapping, workstreams, and milestones
- Share progress and insights using effective verbal, written, and visual storytelling such as slide decks, process maps, and documentation
- Facilitate collaboration between product and non-product teams to maintain alignment across stakeholders
- Partner with Technology Procurement to support RFIs and RFPs
- Recommend investment areas based on research and business goals
- Track and measure the impact of strategic initiatives to support product management teams
- Identify improvement opportunities early, bringing structure to ambiguous challenges
- Influence strategic direction across the product(s) or a cross-product journey
- Consider customer and team member experience by evaluating upstream and downstream impacts
- Collect, analyze, and synthesize customer feedback from multiple channels and use it to inform decisions
What you bring
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- 3 years of applicable product management experience (for example, Product Owner)
- 5 years of equivalent work experience
- Master’s degree in a related field with 2+ years of work experience
- Experience determining Product Market fit and defining a Go-to-Market strategy
- Familiarity with Agile Product Management tools
- Relevant certifications in Product Management/Product Delivery field
- Strong product domain knowledge including business model, constraints, regulations, and user experiences
- Recommended Scrum certification
