Job Description

Build and scale Payments Observability that helps improve reliability across U.S. Bank’s Payments divisions. In this onsite role in Charlotte, you will lead the development and ongoing maintenance of Product Observability, owning the product roadmap and backlog for monitoring, alerting, dashboarding, and service health insights. You will align delivery to the enterprise observability strategy while partnering closely with engineering, SRE, operations, and business stakeholders to strengthen customer support and resiliency.

What you’ll do

  • Define and execute the observability and reliability product roadmap and backlog.
  • Partner with engineering, SRE, operations, and business teams to improve service reliability and customer experience.
  • Establish and track reliability metrics, performance goals, and service health indicators.
  • Prioritize initiatives based on customer impact, operational risk, and business value.
  • Drive adoption of monitoring, alerting, dashboarding, and observability best practices across teams.
  • Analyze incidents, trends, and performance data to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Create executive and operational reporting focused on platform health and customer journeys.
  • Lead cross-functional stakeholders to deliver resilient, scalable payment solutions.

What you bring

  • Technical Product Management experience.
  • Product Management experience supporting technology, platform, infrastructure, or reliability-focused products, including support for product strategy, vision, and roadmap development.
  • Strong understanding of Observability, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), and service health monitoring.
  • Expertise in agile development practices including Scrum and Kanban.
  • Knowledge of project management and issue-tracking tools such as Jira.
  • Experience with IT service management tools including ServiceNow.
  • Ability to translate business needs into technical product requirements and prioritized outcomes.
  • Skill in writing clear product requirements, user stories, nonfunctional requirements, and measurable acceptance criteria.
  • Experience defining KPIs, OKRs, adoption measures, and outcome metrics to evaluate product performance and business value.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred skills

  • Experience gathering user feedback, identifying pain points, and mapping customer journeys to guide product decisions.
  • Experience with product budgeting, forecasting, vendor costs, licensing, and investment planning.
  • Ability to identify cross-team dependencies, sequence work, manage delivery risks, and coordinate releases across multiple technology teams.
  • Working knowledge of cloud platforms, APIs, distributed systems, CI/CD, infrastructure, and modern application architectures.
  • Experience using incident reviews and operational metrics to drive continuous improvement.

Location and schedule

Onsite in Charlotte, NC. This role requires working from a U.S. Bank location three (3) or more days per week.

Compensation

USD 86,360 - 101,600 per year
