Job Description
The Global Transactional FX Product Manager at Bank of America is a director-level role focused on developing and commercializing the bank's automated FX conversion suite (Auto-FX and AutoConvert). The position oversees end-to-end product management, the client value proposition, financial performance, go-to-market execution, client servicing readiness, and analytics and model capabilities in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
- Steer the strategic direction for the Auto-FX and AutoConvert offerings, guiding currency corridor expansion, threshold and exclusion policies, channel uptake (SWIFT, host-to-host, API, and online/mobile), and long-range investment roadmaps aligned with GPS and Transactions FX priorities.
- Manage the portfolio profitability by defining financial targets, pricing and margin strategy, revenue attribution, cost-to-serve considerations, and performance reporting on revenue, notional value, conversions, success rate, and client profitability.
- Drive commercialization and go-to-market execution by segmenting targets, prioritizing prospects, developing sales plays and client-facing positioning, partnering with Sales on pipeline governance, and delivering enablement materials such as training, FAQs, pitch decks, and webinars to accelerate adoption.
- Define the client servicing and support model for Auto-FX and AutoConvert, including SLAs, escalation paths, issue triage routines, client communications, and feedback loops that protect the client experience and enable rapid remediation of mis-conversions.
- Own the risk and controls posture for the Auto-Conversion suite, identifying and mitigating operational, conduct, and model risks, and collaborate with Risk, Compliance, and Operations on control design, testing, KRIs, issues management, and audit readiness.
- Lead data science, analytics, and model management underpinning conversion decisions, defining model objectives and success metrics, coordinating feature engineering and data quality, and establishing ongoing monitoring, alerting, and periodic re-validation.
- Direct the model lifecycle and governance for Auto-FX/AutoConvert decisioning, including testing, versioning, reproducibility, documentation, and controlled change management; partner with Model Risk Management and Risk/Compliance to ensure inventory, approvals, outcome testing, and audit-ready evidence for releases.
- Perform technical and quantitative analyses of conversion outcomes to diagnose breakage drivers, define corrective actions, and collaborate with Ops/Tech to reduce exceptions and improve straight-through processing.
- Lead experimentation and optimization using rigorous evaluation methods, applying insights to adjust eligibility rules, thresholds, and model features to improve conversions while managing client impact and operational risk.
- Guide the platform roadmap with Technology and Operations, translating strategy into epics and requirements, prioritizing delivery, sponsoring releases, and ensuring operational readiness and control alignment across regions.
- Develop investment cases for enhancements and corridor launches, evaluating revenue impact, client benefits, operational risk reduction, and capacity, and manage prioritization across stakeholders to achieve measurable outcomes.
Requirements
- Collaborative and inclusive team players who value shared success and welcome diverse perspectives.
- Highly engaged teammates whose energy aligns with client outcomes and community impact and who bring genuine passion to their work.
- Innovative and curious individuals who generate creative ideas, embrace change with a forward-looking mindset, and challenge the status quo.
- Confident communicators who value feedback, build relationships quickly, and adapt with agility while continuously learning and sharing knowledge.
- Broad understanding of the business challenges facing the bank’s clients in cross-border payments and FX, with the ability to translate insights into smart decisions and processes that deepen client relationships and expand market share.
- Capacity to analyze, define, drive, and implement solutions independently across GPS teams.
- Strong grasp of risk management, compliance, and fraud principles, with relevant management experience.
