Job Description

Eaton is looking for a Senior IT Product Owner to support delivery of a digital customer platform in a hands-on, customer-facing capacity. In this onsite role based in Smyrna, GA, you will lead one or more product workstreams and help translate customer needs into clear product outcomes across eCommerce, customer support, and self-service B2B transactions.

You will shape product direction, drive prioritization, and manage product funding, while partnering with stakeholders and product teams to guide the product development lifecycle, release goals, and governance requirements.

What you’ll own

  • Define and communicate product vision, roadmap, and epics to align with customer and business needs.
  • Own the product backlog, including prioritizing user stories, decomposing epics into features, and driving continuous improvement.
  • Plan, manage, and track product funding, with full responsibility for the product budget and profit plan.
  • Develop and maintain product-specific personas and customer journeys.
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders and customers to define business outcomes and KPIs.
  • Communicate goals for product increments and releases, including defining goals for team sprints.
  • Support onboarding of internal and external resources.
  • Maintain accountability for product support, stability, and governance, covering data, policy, cybersecurity, and usage.
  • Act as a functional expert within product-related areas.
  • Define product processes (for example, release schedule) and support process improvements across product processes including Lean, Agile, Scrum, and DevSecOps.
  • Apply understanding of commercial, business, and go-to-market strategies where applicable.
  • Support a Secure Product Development Lifecycle approach with strong cybersecurity focus across the engineering lifecycle.
  • Manage contracts with software and service vendors that support the product strategy.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution is required.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience as an analyst, project manager, engineer, BRM, or program lead on moderate to highly complex technology projects and programs.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Product Owner or an equivalent role.
  • No relocation is offered. Candidates must currently reside within 50 miles of Smyrna, GA.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.

Preferred background

  • Experience delivering digital self-service capabilities, including portals and external user journeys.
  • Familiarity with commerce platforms (including Salesforce or others) and core processes such as catalog, pricing, checkout, order lifecycle, fulfillment, and payments.
  • Strong understanding of end-to-end customer lifecycle processes (identity, entitlements, quoting/configuration, order management, support).
  • Experience with API-first, integration-heavy architectures, including APIs, data flows, and cross-system dependencies.
  • Knowledge of composable/headless architectures and modern front-end frameworks (React, Angular).
  • Experience in enterprise ecosystems (Salesforce, SAP, Oracle, Snowflake) and platform integrations.
  • Experience working with data models across products such as pricing, customers, hierarchy, entitlements, inventory, and orders.
  • Familiarity with MDM concepts and partnering to ensure data consistency and governance.
  • Understanding of B2B digital and commerce best practices, including AI-driven and composable solutions.
  • Ability to collaborate with engineering/architecture on integrations, validation rules, and system design.
  • Experience building business cases and articulating value of digital investments.
  • Strong experience in customer journey mapping, partnering with UX/research, and translating insights into roadmaps.

Compensation: USD 130,000 - 190,000 per year.
