Role overview

As a Senior Product Manager for the AWS Glue Data Catalog, you will drive capabilities around analytics, governance, and AI agents. You will collaborate with customers and cross‑functional teams to shape the next generation of the data catalog. The AWS Glue Data Catalog serves as the metadata backbone for analytics and AI on AWS, helping enterprises discover, govern, and query data. You will join a collaborative team of engineers, product managers, designers, and solutions architects to translate customer needs into impactful solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed product definitions through frequent, direct interaction with customers and partners
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization to build consensus, define features, and drive rollout
  • Present current solutions and the roadmap to customers, including at conferences and executive briefings
  • Partner with the leadership team to set the Glue Data Catalog strategy and influence metadata for analytics and AI

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience as a Technical Product Manager
  • 5+ years of technical experience in software development, networking, IT, or related fields
  • Proven track record taking a product from conception through engineering design to market
  • Experience gathering requirements from customers, technical teams, and management to define software features and technical designs

Basic Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience as a Technical Product Manager
  • 5+ years of technical experience in software development, networking, IT, or related fields
  • Experience taking a product from conception and definition through engineering design to market
  • Experience working with customers, technical teams, and management to collect requirements and describe software features and designs

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of engineering practices across the full development lifecycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control, build processes, testing, certification, and live site operations
  • Experience operating highly available distributed systems for data extraction, ingestion, and processing of large datasets, or experience with data infrastructures like relational analytic DBMS, Elastic-Search, and Big Data EMR/EC2/Glue/Lambda
  • Direct experience with data catalogs, query engines, or open table formats such as Apache Iceberg
