Anduril Industries is seeking a Senior Product Operations Engineer to operate, maintain, and upgrade a classified networking capability that delivers Space Domain Awareness data for the United States Space Force. This onsite role is based in Costa Mesa, California, with a salary range of USD 129,000 to 171,000 per year. The position sits at the intersection of product engineering and mission assurance, helping to evolve a secure, globally distributed system for a DoD customer.
Responsibilities
- Join a growing team of product engineers delivering a new operational system to a DoD customer, helping steer its evolution and impact.
- Design and implement processes, workflow automations, and tooling to support end users of a globally distributed system hosted in a secure Anduril facility.
- Serve as a systems administration SME with a focus on Linux environments and configurations.
- Collaborate with cross functional teams to ensure operational readiness of new locations or features and maintain ongoing monitoring of the system baseline.
- Provide real time response, rapid resolution, and root-cause analysis for complex issues across code and infrastructure within an air gapped network.
- Improve operational efficiency through proactive automation, system optimization, and continuous monitoring and troubleshooting with minimal supervision, escalating as appropriate.
- Deliver 24x7 on call support as part of a larger Space Domain Awareness team supporting the United States Space Force.
- Build and maintain infrastructure as code using Terraform and Ansible, and implement observability across Linux based distributed systems (monitoring, logging, alerting, tracing).
Requirements
- Active U.S. Secret clearance is required.
- Experience with device configuration, basic troubleshooting, and incident triage.
- Strong communication and documentation skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage work in isolated secure environments.
- Experience with Bash, Python, Ansible, Terraform, and related tools.
- Ability to convey complex concepts clearly across various communication methods and tools.
- Interest in applying advanced technology to enhance US and allied military capabilities in space contexts.
- Little travel required, with some opportunities to visit end-user locations.
- Hands-on experience with observability tools and practices such as monitoring, logging, alerting, and tracing (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack).
- Proficiency in Linux system administration, containerization (Docker/Kubernetes), and managing distributed systems.
- Understanding of software development practices including Git version control, code review, testing, and agile methodologies.
