Senior Designer, UX Research
Job Description
Join Deloitte's Customer Strategy & Design team onsite in Arlington, VA to shape user experiences for API consumers, internal product squads, third party developers, and Veterans. You will translate research insights into practical recommendations for product, design, and engineering, collaborating across disciplines to elevate digital experiences. This role also supports research operations and contributes to a shared repository, helping programs scale impact and accessibility.
Expect a role that blends independent work with cross functional collaboration, backed by clear communication, meticulous quality, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment. You will mentor junior researchers, partner with the research lead, and drive projects to actionable outcomes within a government focused context.
Responsibilities
- Design and execute mixed-methods UX studies spanning API users, internal product teams, external developers, and Veterans.
- Develop research plans, discussion guides, surveys, and synthesis materials for assigned product and platform workstreams.
- Translate findings into actionable recommendations for product, design, and engineering stakeholders.
- Maintain research documentation and contribute insights to a shared research repository.
- Support program research operations, collaborating with the research lead and guiding junior researchers.

- 2+ years facilitating user interviews and user surveys
- 1+ years working on products subject to Section 508 accessibility requirements
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
- Ability to travel 0-25% based on the work and clients served
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship now or in the future
- Experience supporting federal, healthcare, or developer platform products
- Experience conducting research with Veterans or other hard to reach populations
- Experience working in a government contracting environment
- Experience with API and developer experience research
- Experience mentoring junior researchers
Qualifications
- 4+ years of applied user experience research experience
- 2+ years planning and conducting mixed-methods research
- 2+ years facilitating user interviews and user surveys
- 1+ years working on products subject to Section 508 accessibility requirements
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
- Ability to travel up to 25% as needed
- Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship
