Principal Product Manager - Tech, Fauna
Job Description
Lead Principal Product Manager for Fauna Robotics on Amazon's robot platform, onsite in New York, owning the product vision, roadmap, and end-to-end lifecycle from development to mass deployment.
Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end platform roadmap, including requirements definition, architecture trade-offs, milestone planning, and delivery from engineering validation through mass deployment
- Lead BOM cost-down efforts via compute platform choices, sensor rationalization, and design for manufacturing execution
- Define and manage requirements for safety-certifiable autonomous operation, including hazard analysis and functional safety concepts
- Coordinate across hardware, software, science, and safety/compliance teams to align on goals and delivery plans
- Apply lessons from the current developer platform to inform next-generation architecture decisions
- Establish success metrics for large-scale deployments
- Make trade-offs among weight, cost, sensor fidelity, compute capability, and safety margins
- Collaborate with software teams to ensure the autonomy stack fits within a production-ready compute footprint
- Ensure architectural decisions reduce risk in downstream programs
Requirements
- Experience with Design for cost, test, and manufacturing (DFx)
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field
- 10+ years of product management experience in hardware or hardware plus software products
- 7+ years shipping consumer electronics, robotics, or safety-critical systems through full development lifecycle (concept, EVT, DVT, PVT, mass production)
- Technical background (CS, EE, ME, or related engineering degree) with ability to drive architecture decisions
- Experience managing BOM cost-down programs with aggressive targets
