Job Description

As a Senior Manager in Kindle Product Operations, you will lead a cross-functional team in Sunnyvale to define and commit to the operations plan that delivers innovative Kindle devices. You will operate at the earliest, pre-concept stage of the Product Development Process, shaping the roadmap by blending business ownership, commodity expertise, and product technical needs. This onsite role offers a compensation range of USD 223,800 to 302,800 per year and requires a bachelor’s degree with at least ten years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of high-impact professionals to define future Kindle products based on customer needs and viability
  • Break down concepts into component and manufacturing drivers using industry benchmarks and deep supply chain knowledge
  • Influence executive management on design decisions by rigorously examining assumptions and clearly communicating tradeoffs
  • Facilitate decision-making conversations with Product Management, Engineering, and Supply Chain to balance features, timelines, and cost
  • Develop and implement methodologies for high-fidelity analysis of early concept tradeoffs
  • Provide guidance to OPMs and MPMs to ensure cohesive supply chain strategies across the Kindle Product Line
  • Identify and implement improvements to current processes and systems
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams throughout development and manufacturing
  • Drive continuous improvements across operations
  • This role requires international travel

Requirements

  • 10+ years of program management, tech program management, or related experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or a related field
  • Experience leading large-scale, technical or engineering programs with thought leadership, business case development, realizing customer benefits, and successful program completion
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities
  • Experience communicating and presenting to senior leadership
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the consumer electronics supply chain from component sourcing through manufacturing and fulfillment

As a Senior Manager, Product Operations, you will collaborate with an experienced cross-disciplinary staff to conceive, design, and develop innovative consumer products. You will lead a team responsible for defining and committing to the operations plan for delivering Kindle products, operating at the earliest stage of the Product Development Process. You will join Kindle Product Operations as the operations authority shaping the device roadmap while navigating a cross-functional, matrixed environment and a culture of open, collaborative decision making.

A Day in the Life

In this role you will guide a small team of seasoned operations professionals to frame the next product concepts. You will spend substantial time in sessions with product managers and engineers, balancing customer experience, technical performance, development timelines, and cost. You will steer discussions toward viable directions amid the ambiguity of pre-concept development and lead teams toward informed, strategic choices.

The early-stage costing function sits at a pivotal point where strategic decisions have maximum impact but data is still evolving.
